With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Really, the girl is a workaholic, but even she needs to unwind sometimes, so Sayuri dresses up as a human girl her age in a local high school uniform and wanders around town. To salvage a bit of pride and keep her image - when caught she passes it off as if she were scouting. Today, however, is her arcade day - more specifically, where she maintains her DDR #1 High Score at the local arcade she secretly prefers to go to. Tonight was no exception, showing off her moves in front of the gathered long lines for the massive DDR machine, which yet again she upheld her #1 High Score. But really, what chance does any human have in attempting to match the fancy footwork of a girl who is both in 2nd Division and Onmitsukido, seriously - none.
After typing imputing the initials "PWN" for her new high score, she headed off out of the arcade taking to wandering the town, while the rest of the arcade goers for the DDR machine futilely attempted to even come close to her score. Though, there was something strange in the air the girl felt, she knew the sort of reiastu - it was subtle and near. Despite the reality of her just goofing off this time, taking her Captain's advice of learning to unwind, she decided to uphold at least some modicum of her 2nd Division duties and at least check it out.
Something quite out of character for her, she did not really try very hard to conceal herself as she moved through the shadows attempting to trace the reiastu. She moved silently through a few alleyways, down a couple streets, but once she got to where she initially sensed, she felt nothing - or at least it was not there anymore. Her right eye brow arched in response before turning and walking back down the street, maybe she missed it or them or whatever or whomever...
Legault leaped down from the rooftop he was relaxing on, landing right in front of Sayuri. "Hello! Are you lost?" he asked in a freindly manner. Legault was dressed in his human attire today. He wore a brown bandana that did nothing to cover up his long purple hair, but served its purpose to cover something that would have been a bit more noticable. "Or perhaps you were looking for me?" he asked, wearing his usual friendly smile. He was certian that already she could figure out he wasn't human since he just leapt down from a building without a scratch. In his hand, Legault held a bottle of spring water, half empty. This girl was a shinigami, that much was clear. Though it was rare to see one prancing about in a gigai.
Just as she was about take another step she paused then immediately took a small jump backward as a man landed right in front of her. Her dark brown eyes popped open wide a little taken aback from being somewhat sneaked up upon, rare occasion for her. But the tiny thing damn near broke her neck looking up at the guy in front of her, the girl is less than five feet tall and scrawny to boot. It was more than obvious to her he was no human from the jump he just made, taking a couple steps back she coolly reached behind her with her right hand, then paused.
It just then dawned on her she left he zanpakuto at her quarters, carrying it around while wearing a school uniform hardly would enable her to pull off the part. But, she still had her Kidou and Hakudo to fall back upon if things got out of hand, but as it were she would prefer not to fight. The expression her face remained its general sedated, humorless look as she replied to the man in front of her, "Seems so. Your reiastu is not human, it is definitely not Shinigami, though it is like a Hollow's I feel no malevolence from you, I thought Arrancar - but - you don't seem like one... What are you?"
Legault continued to grin at the girl. She was very keen, but judging by the motion she just made, she was unprepared to fight. Most arrancar would take advantage of such an easy kill. "I am Legault" he replied politely. "And don't worry, I have no intention of harming you." Legault took a sip of his water then continued. "May I have your name miss shinigami?" Legault asked curiously. It was even rarer for him to get a chance to talk to a shinigami, usually they just attack him with such prejudice.
Sayuri crossed her arms under her chest while looking at him with a weary, suspicious eye, people this friendly are tough to trust. Especially for an assassin, the one who acts like your best friend is generally the one who is likely to stab you in the back first. Shifting her weight from one leg to another, it was clear by her posture and body language she did not trust his friendliness in the least of ways.
"Sasaki.", she stated giving him her last name, she did not know him well enough to give him her first, "You have not answered my question, though. What are you?", she asked it again, though it was not exactly her intention, it sounded like an interrogation. Perhaps too much conditioning from her training. Though her tone was calm and collected, her face continued to seem wooden while her eyes held a serious gaze.
Legault sighed in a dissapointed tone. "My, My quite serious aren't we?". He felt bery hesitant about what he was about to do, after all, he kept these sort of things hidden for a reason. He tossed his water bottle in an empty garbage can. Legault began to unbutton his jacket half way down. He pulled the left side of his jacket out of the way, revealing a large hole just to the left of his heart. "I am what you see" he replied in a less cheerful tone. Legault paused for a moment to see just hpw the girl would react. With fear? Disgust? or perhaps hatred? These were things that Legault typically expected of any person.
The belief Sayuri held that this man was not an Arrancar she suddenly found quashed within that instant. Her brow furrowed in response to her poor judgment, normally she would draw her zanpakuto in that very secondm but without it - she was not about to fight an Arrancar. So, she remained as she is with the same expression on her face and eyes, there are very few things that rattle her, the most primary being her own Captain, and little else beyond that.
"My assessment was wrong.", she said flatly though with tinge of surprise in the tone, "You are an Arrancar.", though as mentioned earlier, she chose not to do anything sense she lacked her zanpakuto. Regardless of typically being a workaholic, she no zealot, she is an assassin and despite assassins killing in the name of their sovereigns cause, they are seldom ever as blindly faithful to it as to attack headlong into the fray regardless of circumstances. In the mind of assassin that latter bit is akin to retardation.
She pondered for a second and then questioned, "What are you doing here? You do not act like any of the Arrancar I have read reports about or have seen with my own eyes."
"Well I suppose you have a right to be suspicious of me" Legault stated calmly. "But I'm not really a bad person, well, not as bad as some of the others" he tried to explain to the shinigami girl. Legault began to button up his shirt again as he leaned against the wall. "As for what I'm doing here, I'm simply enjoying the human world. I'm not here to hurt anyone, I simply want to at least pretend I'm not a monster skulking around the halls of Las Noches for just a bit." Legault explained in a slightly sarcastic and humorous voice. Though he tried to joke about it, this was really how he felt inside. He continued to wear his cheerful smile, which was often meant to cover up the sadness he felt inside.
"Well miss Sasaki, it is a pleasure to meet you" Legault stated quickly, trying to change the conversation.
Sayuri tilted her head a little while scratching the back of her head with her right hand, she did not understand this Arrancar, as stood there a bit perplexed. What was he playing at she wondered to herself, but his telling her that it is a pleasure to meet her is another thing that perplexed her, as it is not exactly something she is told very often.
"It is?", she replied bewildered, she quickly shifted back to her being suspicious of him as she stated clearly and directly, "If this some sort of ploy to get me to drop my guard for an up coming battle. I assure you it will not work."
Gozen walked along the road, eating a donut. He normally didnt allow such treats for himself, but today he was going to make an exception. After all, with her dead and gone, who else would celebrate his mother's birthday? He walked along the quiet, empty street while munching on his donut, when he heard two people talking. He walked right past the girl and the man talking, anyone with the ability would of been able to sense his shinigami-like reiatsu as he walked past the two.
