Ishi Ito leaned against the sill of the window watching many of the students walking out of the school gates on their way home. They looked happy, Ishi observed tilting her head to the side as she studied them. Many girls had their arms wrapped around a guy's arm, others were on the back of a guy's bike. They seemed so simple and carefree, all they had to worry about was the person they were with and perhaps an English test to study for. Ishi turned her head and watched other students heading toward their respected area where certain clubs met. Normally, though few, Ishi would attend the martial arts club practice, occasionally the track team, and if she felt up to it depending on the night before she would try to attend the photography club. The last one was a rare one, even if she did try to turn in a portfolio of some sort each month.
She let out a small sigh, turning around she let her back be warmed by the setting sun, looking at the classroom before her. Why was she at the school so late, she had been assigned classroom cleanup for the week. Normally one other student would have stayed behind to help her as well. Ishi was noticing a habit of the occasional absence of the other student when it was her week. A few times before she would be paired with the overly friendly students who would talk about anything without a response from her, Ishi liked them, particularly how lively they were. Other times, like this, when no one stayed behind, Ishi wondered if it was because she was still a relatively new student, her stature, or how she kept to herself. Ishi shrugged away the small wisp of loneliness she felt, there was no hard feelings.
Picking up a desk with ease she moved it to the front of the classroom. It wasn't a hard job when no one else was around, least she didn't need to hide her strength. Picking up two more desks one under each arm, Ishi proceeded to move them all to the front of the classroom. Next she took the broom out of the closet and began sweeping. She solely concentrated on it for a few minutes before she began to slow and gaze out the window. She wasn't known to be much of a daydreamer, Ishi preferred for things to be realistic, set in hard fact. But even as she felt the longing in her chest and the pressure in her mind of some sort of creature moving into the town, she knew not everything could be explained by the books she read. Sighing again, Ishi had a feeling it would be a long night and started sweeping again.
