Personality:
Rin can be forgetful, but don't let her absent-mindedness fool ya, she's no fool. She's smarter then most people think, but she's too timid to know when to let her brilliance go to work. She's nothing short of shy, although she is something short of clueless.Appearance:
She's too timid. She's a bit cowardly... Ok a LOT cowardly. She gets spooked by all kinds of things, from the ghosts she sees to the shinigami, to the monsters (hollow)... All of it. She's afraid of trying new things, she doesn't like changes, and she's afraid of growing up to be a failure.
Absent minded as hell, she forgets all sorts of things: leaving books on the table, forgeting when her classes are... You name it, she's probably going to forget it at some time. Or maybe she already has. She's not good at remembering names or faces, and she has all sorts of moments when she forgets what she's doing, or thinks that she's lost something when it's right in her hand.
There are a few points in time when she can calm down and stop seeming so afraid, but seeing it is rare. In fact, it's nearly impossible to find a moment of Rin just being calm and collected, but it does seem like there are a few people Rin can get comfortable around.
Warming up to people is hard, Rin has a habit of mistrusting people on first sight, and taking weeks or months to let anyone see a calmer side of her. It takes so long for Rin to warm up to someone that most people give up on her before they have a chance to really get to know her. The fact is, she's afraid to let people in. She's afraid that if she lets them in, they'll know how to tear her down.
She isn't a quitter, despite the fact that she's so timid. Well, there are some things she'll quit on immediately, but there are some she'll gain a determination to succeed. Maybe that's the reason why she's managed to get a black belt in karate.
Hight: 5'3Origin of Power:
Weight: 104 lbs
Striking violet eyes sit on her face, making it one of the most noticable parts about her. They're bright, but upon close inspection an empathetic person can tell that she masks a burden, but to a normal person they're striking and beatiful.
Her hair is short and messy, cut so it falls to her chin but not any further. Her bangs on the other hand, are grown out and long. She lets her bangs hang down to her ribs. She pulls them back with a few hairclips, and once in a long while she ties them back into a ponytail. Her hair is shiny, and black, the color of polished onyx.
Rin can see ghosts, but nothing more. She simply happened to be in an enviroment where reiatsu was constantly leaking out, and thus, she gained spiritual awareness.Special Abilities:
Karate - She's into karate, and she's the level of a first degree blackbelt. She's got some talent for it, although her absent mindedness has prevented her from growing in the skill any further than she already has. She doesn't have the best discipline for it, although she has a determination to keep going.Powers First Stage:
Empathy - She's an empathetic person, truly. She can catch on to people's emotions, and she knows how to adjust to people's habits. For people she's known for a long time, she's good at figuring out their nervous habits. It's the one thing she remembers flawlessly.

History/Background:
Rin wasn't always so timid. When she was little, only three years old, she was hyper and friendly as can be. She was constantly getting herself into trouble of some kind, and no matter what she did, it happened. Whether it was climbing a tree she would never get down from or getting her foot caught under a tree branch and tripping, she always managed to find some way to get into trouble. She was really just carefree.RP Sample:
That changed on her fith birthday, when her mother was brutally murdered by gunfire. In truth, it was a bad shot, not directed at her mother but instead at a police officer. Rin, being too scared to process what had happened, ran away at top speed, avoiding everyone from that moment on. She was actually so devastated that she began to see life as if she was looking at it under a microscope. She didn't see the good things because she was focused in on the bad, and so she became afraid of people.
Now living with her grandmother, Rin started Karate soon after she turned five. She really wasn't any good at it, although she did possess some ability with it. She was terrible with remembering her katas, and she was awful at remembering what time her classes were. You'd think she would give up, but she didn't. It was something that gave her a few moments of feeling like she could handle herself, and so she kept trying.
Sadly this didn't affect her paranoia in any way. She had been terrified of people, and terrified that she would be a loser at life. She was so scared of rejection that she avoided people altogether, and she was so scared of the malicious actions that humans were known for that she avoided them too.
Warming up to people was hard for Rin, and letting people in was harder still. When she started to see ghosts at the age of 14... You can imagine her shock.
She walked into the classroom. Everyone else was already there, and a few kids were teasing her about it.
"Hey, Rin, did ya find the cure for cancer on your way here?" One boy joked.
"Nah, she found a winning lottery ticket," Another girl added.
"I went to the wrong classroom," Rin said weakly as she walked over to the empty seat in the back of the class. She watched everyone who sat in class, blissfully unaware of what was occuring every day.
"They can be pretty obnoxious sometimes, teenagers," An old looking ghost commented as he sat next to Rin, looking thoughtful. He stroked his chin as if there was a beard there, and if there had been one it would be the only hair this guy had on his entire head.
Incidentily, Rin fell out of her chair with a scream, and looked at the ghost from the ground, causing the entire class to turn their heads. One or two laughed, one girl came up to help her. One more shook his head, and the teacher just walked into the room.
Rin quickly scrambled back to her desk, motioning for the other girl to do the same. She pulled out one of her notebooks and began to write in it.
