History/Background:
Age: 321 (looks roughly 19)
Gender: Male
Personality:
If one were to describe Kyoji in one word, "Manipulative" would probably work best. He rarely shows legitimate emotion, preferring to utilize over 300 years of self control to portray whatever he feels will put him in an advantageous position. While many would consider his games to be fruitless and meaningless, they serve a very specific purpose.Appearance:
Kyoji is all about preservation, both for himself and for the few people who he genuinely cares about. He uses his manipulations to trick others into working in his favor, so that these people might live to see another day. To this end, he presents himself in a most confusing way. Some know him to be a kind, gentle soul, who would gladly give his life for his friends. Others know him to be a cold, insensitive bastard, who would gladly throw their lives away to keep him alive. The only people who truly know are those who are close to him...
Standing 5'4", and weighing a meager 132 lbs, Kyoji's green eyes seem to almost always be looking through the people he speaks to instead of at them. He boasts Jet black hair, coming down to the swell of his back, which always seems to stay in perfect place, save for in battle, in which if flows majestically with his own movements. The young shinigami's smooth, almost boyish face shines a dark, seductive beauty, and he takes great care to protect it, to the point where he owns a jet black mask to wear into battle.Zanpakuto Spirit:
Kyoji's clothes are an over stylized version of the standard Shinigami's clothing. He makes a point to look as nice as possible, and ensures that he is rarely seen looking haggard. Tucked in his Obi is an elaborate fan, made of a fine black wood, which when opened depicts a Scorpion and Crane circling each other, locked in combat. The Scorpion seems to have an advantage, and the background is black.
"Hinomaru", Kyoji's spirit, is an older gentleman, dressed in a traditional samurai's garb of brilliant Gold and black. His brown hair is worn in a traditional topknot, with a face that always seems to show disapproval at Kyoji's constant plotting and dishonorable conduct. He is mostly quiet, though when he speaks, it is always to tell Kyoji something meaningful.Sealed Zanpakuto:
The world that Hinomaru resides in resembles a large throne room, with various traditional paintings lining the walls. The throne at the center is a marvelous looking chair, looking as if it were made out of pure Emerald, with Obsidian stones inlayed on the outline of the throne. Within it's confines, Hinomaru provides Kyoji with advice, showing approval only when his partner takes honorable paths.
Hinomaru appears as a very normal katana, the blood red saya polished to a brilliant shine. The Tsuka is wrapped in brand new black silk, with little red scorpions sewn into the wrap. The tsuba is particularly beautiful, made in shining brass, shaped in a 5 point star. At the end of each point, brilliant Jet stones are fixed. When it is unsheathed, the blade shines in a bright light from the base of the habaki, but begins to darken as it closes on the edge of the blade, becoming pure black at the last inch and a half.Shikai Description:
"Purify, Hinomaru."Shikai Abilities:
As Kyoji utters these words, the blade begins to glow and extend, with the hilt extending as well and becoming more round. What results is a naginata, very similar in design to the sealed version of the zanpakutou, though with some minor changes. The blade becomes completely black, and the jet stones connect to each other and fill the tsuba into a full pentagonal shape.
Hinomaru's abilities are named after the seven tenets of Bushido, the code that binds a samurai, fitting of the spirit that resides within it. Only one ability can be used at a time, and each has a specific restriction placed on it preventing Kyoji from using it under certain conditions.Bankai Description:
Chugo (Loyalty)- This ability can only be used if Kyoji is fighting an enemy of the Soul Society. If Kyoji attempts to use it for selfish games, Hinomaru simply won't allow the power to work. As Kyoji mutters the name of the tenet "Duty", the black blade begins to glow a bright gold. Kyoji then points it at his target, releasing a large blast of reiatsu that snakes towards whatever Kyoji wishes to destroy.

"Junseikon Hinomaru" (Pure Soul, Outline of the Sun)Bankai Abilities:
The naginata seems to burst into tiny fragments, which surround Kyoji and begin to transform into an egg shape. Upon the eggs hatching, Kyoji appears to be reborn in bright red and black armor, a strange scorpion symbol appearing over his heart. Four great, feathery black wings protrude from this armor, flapping majestically.

"Meiyo"
The Final tenet, honor, is indeed the most powerful of Hinomaru's abilities, and it is only fitting that it be the ability that is his Bankai. At this stage, Kyoji is able to manipulate his own reiatsu into a weapon. The most common weapon he uses is a katana, though depending on circumstances, other weapons might be created. Kyosuke cannot create ranged weapons, nor can the weapon he is using leave his hand, lest it merely disappear. Each weapon also has a limitation on size, Kyoji only being able to create weapons reaching up to 7 1/2 feet in length. The greater sized weapons also take longer to form- a naginata or Tetsubo would take much longer to create than a katana. The bankai also increases his speed marginally, though it is hardly noticeable since much of the extra released reiatsu is used in weapon creation. However, such power does not come with a price, and Hinomaru will not tolerate Kyosuke's dishonor while in bankai. If he attempts to deceive someone while in his bankai, it becomes lost to him, and his zanpakutou will not answer his call for a weeks time.

History/Background:
Kyoji was born in soul society to humble beginnings, in one of the middle districts of Rukongai. Despite his location, the young soul was quickly abandoned by his mother, who could not afford to take care of both of them. Death could have easily been Kyoji's destiny, if not for a man by the name of Bayushi.RP Sample:
Bayushi found the boy starving on the road, and it is not known to Kyoji if he took pity on him, or if he just saw another pawn to utilize. Either way, Bayushi picked the boy up, and brought him along with him to a small hut on the edge of the district. There, the older gentleman began teaching him the ways of deception and manipulation. Through Bayushi's guidance, Kyoji quickly showed a knack for these ideals, proving himself to be not only competent, but exceptional in Bayushi's techniques, be they maneuvering through word play, or the deceptive style of combat that Bayushi had taught him. Things began to take a change, however, when Kyoji showed signs of being a potential shinigami...
Not long after he showed his signs, a group of shinigami came looking for Bayushi, tired of the old man's treachery. They silenced the old man readily and easily, beyond the sight of Kyoji. One would have expected Kyoji to seek retribution. Instead, he saw a chance. After displaying his new found abilities, he was accepted into the shinigami academy. For the most part, he resolved to continue to make life better for himself, and for those he could trust, forsaking any thought of revenge, though he would take the name "Bayushi" as a family name, a final nod to the man who taught him for so long.
Upon arrival in the Academy, Kyoji flourished, especially in the art of kenjutsu. His former training lended itself well to a style that seemed quick and merciless, relying on swift feints and powerful disarms to defeat any who were placed against him. However, his studies in kidou were poor at best, with it becoming clearer and clearer that he had little interest in improving more than what was absolutely necessary with his Kidou.
Upon graduation, Kyoji immediately began working his way into the 13th squad, believing personally for 13 to be a lucky number, though if there are any other reasons he hasn't told anyone yet.
The sun began to set quietly on Karakura as Kyoji started to finish his patrols for the day. "How disappointing," he muttered, musing on the annoying lack of action that he had experienced today. As he headed back to the spot arranged for him to stay while he was here, he sensed something, something that made his standard smile almost grow. A swift flash, and Kyoji found himself in front of a disgusting site.
The hollow before him could hardly be called a solid form, the only solid part of it's body being the head and bug-like mask up top. The rest was a disgusting green mass, moving around in a near liquid form, constantly chaging as the creature willed it. "How amusing," Kyoji said, "It seems that even the hollows have rejects. I suppose that beggars really can be choosers, don't you, Hollow-san?"
"A mere Soul reaper, making a claim against me? How pathetic, I will enjoy eating you!" The mass began to take something of a solid shape, a humanoid body that towered over Kyoji.
The young shingami was not deterred, moving his left foot back and putting his right hand on the zanpakutou in his Obi. "Ah, I see that even rejects can boast well. It is only good fortune, I imagine then, that allows me to have the opportunity to silence you."
"Enough!" The creature made a lunge at Kyoji , it's giant arm prepared to grab at him. Kyoji merely smiled, and a flash of steel removed the approaching arm at the elbow. Before the beast had known what had happened, Kyoji was standing behind it, his sword drawn.
"You overestimate your own abilities, and allowed yourself to be corrupted with anger. That is why you have lost this day." A swift flash, and the hollow began to disintegrate. Kyoji's expression turned into a small scowl. "Unfortunate, that you did not even have the wit to be entertaining in death."
