Kai has a double persona.Appearance:
The persona that every one see's from day to day is that Kai is a generally good natured guy, a little quiet at times but normally has a grin on his face. He tries to stay out of peoples way and get on with his work, though not afraid to chat to someone if he encounters them on his journey. Kai is also known to be seen always eating alot, although it seems he manages to remain thin, members of his squad often tell him he's going to get fat. Kai's favourite colour is blue, mostly because he and his twin sister enjoyed spending hours on end gazing at the sky in the slums.
One of Kai's favourite past times is a game of Mahjong with his old teachers from the academy, he finds that it relaxs his mind, although in over fifty year he has never been able to beat his old sensei.
Kai's other persona has led to some of his comrades and superiorers to believe he is bi-polar. However this is not the case. In fact Kai becomes very serious when he is fighting or looking for clues to his sisters death. Kai becomes very secluded and almost emotionless, It seems as though rage is boiling under the surface. Kai has also be known to be very protective of women no matter the persona he is wearing.

Kai stands at an average height of 5 foot 11 inches with muscles that are toned but not outragously huge. Kai inherited his looks from rare tribe in south africa, this of course was when he was alive. Kai has brilliant white hair, scarlet red eyes and a perfectly golden tanned skin, all trade marks of his clan.
Kai mostly wears a grin like expression and seems peaceful with his eyes and big and bright as diamonds. Though when he becomes serious his expression becomes dark secluded and his eyes as sharp as an eagles.
Kai wears clothes similar to those of second squad, tight black pants with a belt to store items related to an assassin, such as poisons, throwing kunai and such. The top half of his body is wrapped in white bandages that wrap around his chest up to his right shoulder, Kai's left shoulder and the left side of his chest are left exsposed. Covering his heart Kai has a deep scare in the shame of a dagger wound, the scar seems to be of ages past.
Kai also wears a black jacket with white stripes that goes down to his waist, once again the jacket has the pockets for assassins work, including some hidden ones. Around Kai's neck is also a thin black joker neckless, although bland the neckless seems to always be on. On Kai's left arm he has a silver and white gauntlet, although small it is still very stong and able to defelct atleast some blows.
Inner WorldSealed Zanpakuto:
Long ago before the event that caused Kai's spirit to change appearance Kai's innerworld looked very much like a church, the church was dark, lit with candles along the walls with one bookstands instead of benchs leading all the way up to the podium that held a long gold cross.
However now Kai's inner world looks shattered or broken, although pieces of the church remain, they are scattered about a fog like world, floating in mid air. The podium is on one such piece of scattered church, Kai normally spends his time with his spirit here, leaning against the podium.
Spirit
Kai's spirit when he first achieved his Shikai took the form of Kai's shadow, it danced off the floor and walls as the candle light in the church flickered, although Kai's shadow it moved seperately to Kai. When the spriit talked its mouth would be but no words would come out, although Kai knew what it was saying. The spirit was very playful jumping from object to object, playing as if its moves were deamed by the fickle candle light.
Kai's spirit no longer looks like a shadow but takes the form of a young girl wearing a white kimodo with purple lilliesm her very existance in such a dark world seems odd but just seeing her brings a smile to kai's face. Kai believes his spirit is called Izanami, the goddess of the earth and of the shadows. Izanami has the white hair, red eyes and tanned skin of Kai's clan. She always wears a smile on her face and it only grows when she see's Kai. Izanami once again has no voice but rather speaks to Kai through actions and movements even when she is playing. For some reason it seems to Kai that his spirit fades in and out, once again like the flame of a candle.
Shikai Description:
Kai's Zanpakuto is a black Kodachi with red rims and a silver blade. His blade is sheathed on the upper part of his left arm so he can pull it downwards to unsheathe it and make a swift kill. The sheath itself has a red tribal like pattern running down it, the red matches the colour of Kai's eyes.
Name: KageShikai Abilities:
Command: "Hide in the Shadows Izanami"
Blade: The Kodachi turns into a black Katana with a jagged tip. The tip of the Katana has shark like teeth running for about 5CM, enough to rip through defenses.
The red tribal pattern that appeared on Kai's unsealed sheath now runs down the edge of Kai's black blade, appearing to be blood on the jagged tip of the blade.
The blade is said to flicker very much like the wick of a candle, although it is very much solid.
Kage - Using the black blade Kai launches a shadow like stream at an enemy that crawls along the ground and jumps up if the enemy is in the air to attempt to pierce his enemies.Bankai Description:
Kage Dansu - Lauches shadow blades at the enemy in an attempt to cut them. The blades dance through the sky and are directed by the slash of Kai's own katana, the direction cannot change.

Episode 1: Beginings
In the depths of soul society's slums sat two young white haired kids about the age of seven.. from here the story beings.
Kai first woke up in soul society in a back alley of the slums. He awoke to find himself slumbed back to back against a girl with brilliant white hair that ran down to her shoulders. He turned his head to find the girl staring through the dark shadows of the alley into the bright blue sky above. He found it some what odd that this girl could look through the dark damp alley full of trash that they resided in to the sky above, he found himself smiling for the first time in his new life in soul society.
Episode 2 - Growth
Kai and his self proclaimed twin sister Aya spend all their time together in the slums. They had no other to look after them apart from themselves but that was of little matter to Aya. Aya's curiousity was immense she questioned and queried everything and anything she saw. Kai spent his time following his sister around, he thought himself somewhat of a body guard, he admired his sister's energy and would make sure she would have no trouble spending it.
During one of Aya's little adventures the pair stumbled across a somewhat secretive path in the mountains. The path looked like it hadn't been used for a long long time and Aya was instanly intrigued. Dragging Kai along with her they made their way to the end of the path which formed an opening. In this opening stood surrounded by mountains a churst or temple of some kind. Kai turned to his sister suddenly afraid for their well being, he did not like the look of such a place, why hadn't it been touched in such a long time? Aya would have none of it and approached the church.
Episode 3 - The stagnant church
Kai refused to let Aya walk into the church and insisted he was to be the one to push open the doors. Unfortunately for Kai the doors were much to heavy for him to open alone and it took the strength of both of them to open the church. As the doors swung open stale dry air rushed out sending Aya's hair flying into a total mess and Kai into a fit of laughter at his sister, it seemed to have calmed Kai. As the twins walked in they explored the church, with its one room and three windows it was a small building but interesting none the less. The walls were covered with pictures, they seemed to Kai that the pictures told a story of the sun and the moon. Aya and Kai with no home of their own made this church their own special place and would return to it for days at a time. Aya found a white neckless in the church instead of a cross is had what looked to be a black and white butterfly on it, one wing black the other white, the colours seemed to fade in and out. The chruch contained books, hundreds, thousands on all sorts of subjects and the twins would spend their time studying them.
Episode 4 - The Apple Tree
While Aya tended to read the romantic epic books, Kai liked the books about heros of old, shimigami who's strength matched the gods. There was even books to teach Kidou and others that Kai did not understand. When Kai first managed his first Kidou spell he was overwhelmed with excitement and pleasure, though accompanied with this was a lack in energy. Aya found herself also intersted but instead of spells of destruction she worked on making complex patterns of bright colours. By the end of their first week messing with the Kidou books both twins felt some what exhausted and so Aya decided to take a trip into the slums once more, she thought a change of location might renew their energy. While in the slums the pair walked passed an apple tree guarded by a wired fence, since they could both remember neither of them either hungered for food... but now seeing those apples on the tree made their mouths water. Aye jumped the fence and began to climb the tree ignoring Kai's protests. Suddenly while Aya was half way up the tree her vision began to fail and her grip became weak, she fell. Kai jumped the fence in one swift movement and caught his sister in his arms but he too felt weak and collapsed under the strain.
Episode 5 - The Academy
Kai awoke lying on a bed in a white room, around him we're men in white and black robes carrying swords at their waists. He had heard and seen these men before, they were shimigami, those who ignored the pains of the slum people. Kai jumped up feeling his energy had returned to him and grabbed a sword out of the sheathe of one of the white robbed figures, he jumped onto the table and screamed for the where abouts of his twin sister, panic had set it in and he would strike at anyone who tried to approach him, all he cared was about his sister. A figure walked into the room, with brown hair and black rimmed glasses, unlike the others he wore a black robe, Aya walked in behind him, holding his hand. when she saw Kai she ran towars him. Kai threw down the katana and ran to his sister picking her up in his imbrace. Later Aya and Kai found themselves being told about people who could use their Reiatsu to form kidou spells and other interesting things. The shimigami who turned out to be a first lieutenant explained to them that they had a chance for a better life and how they had to eat to maintain their strength. Once again Aya assumed the role of boss of the pair and her curiosity was too much to ignore they offer they had been given, to join the Academy and become shimigami.
Episode 6 - Strength of the pair
At the academy Aya and Kai were placed in the same classes as to not upset their delicate relatonship, once again Kai would act as a body guard to his twin and would warn off any threat. Though this by no means stopped the pair from making friends, because of their prevous knowledge and adventures they quickly became popular in the classes they were assigned to. The pair excelled in all of their classes, thanks partly to the books they had read at the stagnant church as Aya had come to call it. They found themselves returning to the church whenever they had the chance to sneak out, the giant at the gate of soul society would always let them out if Aya brought him a glass of milk and some cookies. During the end of their stay at the academy they found themselves being some of the first students to be able to release their Shikai, Kai's shikai was a black katana with the end jagged, whole Aya's was a white butterfly knife.
Episode 6.5- The Kage's Edge
Kai first discovered his Zanpakuto's spirit while at the church with Aya, he was in the opening outside the church practicing his technique when it finally happened, as his Zanpakuto released, Kai collapsed. Kai found himself in the church but it was unlike the church everything was moving in shadows, they seem to circle him. I shadow rose up from the shadows, it was Kai's very own shadow. As the shadow spoke it made no sound but Kai could still hear it inside. "I am Kage, I am the Shadow" Kai stunned at the event realised this was his zanpakuto speaking to him.
Episode 7 - White Tsubasa
As the pair went into the last remaining years at the academy they began to do their own thing more often, now they both appeared the age of 16. Kai hung out with those interested in sword technique while Aya was more interested in Kidou or healing. Kai noticed Aya went often to have secretive meetings with a member of the gotei 13, he had no idea who but intended to find out. One day he decided to question his sister Aya about it, without luck. Aya argued that they'd be going to seperate squads, her the 4th and him the 2nd, they'd still see each other but not as much she was allowed friends of her own. Kai tried to argue that they need not be secret friends but Aya claimed he would never understand. That night Kai did his best to follow Aya to see who this secret 'friend' of hers was, as he followed the pair, unable to see who it was she was with due to the distance, he followed them to the stagnant church. Kai was horrorfied that Aya had told someone else of their secret place and continued to follow them. As he pushed open the doors to the church he saw....
Episode 8 - Lost Tsubasa
Aya was standing at the front with a man behind her, the man wore the robes of a captain but his face was covered in shadows, as Kai walked in he saw Aya's eyes were blank as she were in a dream or a daze. Kai went to approach his sister and was knocked back by the captains reiatsu. Kai struggled against it using all his force and tried his best to unsheathe Kage, as he got to his feet the captain ripped the black and white butterfly neckless from Aya's neck. The captain then released Aya from her daze and shell fell to the floor in a slumb. As the captain passed Kai on his way to leave, his face still covered by the shadows, he whispered "She's mine" into Kai's ear, and he left. Now that the captain was gone Kai was able to approach his sister, as he did he found that she was no responding. Kai tried everything but was not able to wake his sister, he turned around to make his way towards to where the captain had left. As Kai went to leave Aya got to her feet, Kai turned to his sister eyes still blank. Suddenly a hot feeling hit Kai's chest, his heart burned and felt like it was on fire, Kai looked down to find his sister's sword released as a the white butteryfly knife in his chest, blood spilling down. Kai looked at his sister as to question why as he did... she faded away like smoke, her legs disappeared into nothingness then the rest of her body followed, Kai collapsed.
Episode 9 - Rebirth
Several weeks later after the death of his twin sister Kai although filled with dispair at his loss maintained his positive attitude. Although this was an act it gave Kai the chance to ask questions and not be noticed. At first when Kai had returned to the academy and questioned his sensei about what may have happened to his sister he was horrorfied to find out he had no recurlection of Aya, futher more nor had any one else. Kai was convinced this was the doing of the mysterious captain he saw, he would do his best to defeat him and claim his answers.
After graduating from the academy Kai noticed several differences in his Shikai, Inner world and his Zanpakuto's spirit. When Kai entered his inner world he began to cry as a younger version of Aya had taken the place of his inner spirit, like his spirit she was not able to talk but communicated through actions. When Kai questioned her about Aya she only seemed confused and usually got upset. Even though Kai could not get any answers he still continues to search for what happened to his beloved sister, to do this Kai believe he must become as strong if not stronger as a captain.

Kai casually looks up to the sky
above the tree he's sitting under.
" Yo, Aya, I hope you don't fall on me, your getting fat since we started at the Academy"
As Kai scans the tree for his sister he becomes aware of an apple rapidly approaching his face.
"Argh!"
Too late, the apple smashes into Kai's face covering him with small pieces of the red and green apple.
"Ow Aya! That hurt!" Kai protests
"Oh? Sowwi I thought I heard some meanie call me fat" Aya giggles as she see's Kai's apple pie like face.
Aya then jumps from the tree to land gracefully beside Kai, she takes a finger and picks up a piece of apple before putting it into her mouth.
Kai once again looks to the old tree they're sheltering under, both of them in their acaedmy uniforms
"This is where it all started, right Aya? We'll be shimigami soon, I guess the slum people will hate us too"
Aya ignored him as she grabbed another apple off the tree.

Paris, France, The Real World.
A four man team from the second squad have been sent out to deal with the assassination of a human with high spiritual power, this human has been purposely summoning hollow and using them to get rid of his rival business's.
Kai, Ryui and Ichigu are leaning against the metal framework of the efile tower, 200 foot from the ground does not effect these strong shimigami as their team leader, Densi, instructs them of their mission.
"Our targets name is Marcus Elmond, a french businessmen who intends to summon a hollow, of all things a HOLLOW! to defeat his rival business's. It's our task to take him out, we'll start the operation in... KAI! Why are you eating, at a time like this!?"
Kai who casually stops shoving the rice ball into his mouth looks over at the captain and attempts to plead his case, however finds it difficult to talk with a full mouth.
"Err... I thou..hun..gry full strenth.... mission..."
Kai swallows the rice all at once with a clear gulp seen as it goes down his throat.
"SIR!"
Shouts Kai with no longer a mouth full.
"Oh Kai....."
Ryui says embarrassed for her comrade, yet still with an interested look.
Densi continues to fill his team on the mission and instructs them that they are to move out, corner the target down a road that had a barrier set up on it and eliminate him.
"MOVE OUT"
Densi commands, and the team obeys.
Kai and Ryui are assigned to follow the target until he reachs the destination point in which they are to seal him in and work on flanking him betten them and Densi and Ichigu.
While hopping building to building following the targets car Kai notices Ryui looking at Kai's face with the begining of a smile.
"Er.. What is it? Do I have something on my face" Kai Enquires
Ryui lets out a hushed laugh and looks back at Kai.
"Nothing is all, Kai, your cute for a new member" Ryui winks at Kai
"Ah What!?"
Kai says as he nearly stumples making it to the next building
