Personality:

Kaien is an extremely arrogant young man, constantly posturing himself above others and believing he is superior. He became like this due to the effect his spiritual powers had on his intelligence, greatly increasing it, and by extension turning him into an arrogant person.

Kaien is also very greedy and hungry for power and fame. Any inventions he makes "for the good of mankind" are nothing more than a way for him to make money, or became known worldwide. He's very ambitious, and is not afraid to step on anyone and anything to achieve his goals. Even if it means putting innocents or himself in harms way.

Kaien was considered highly intelligent before the awakening of his spiritual powers. Now that his powers have been awoken, his own reitsu augments his intelligence, increasing it to the likes of Syzael or Mayuri. However, he would rather use his genius for profit than to truly help others.

Kaien is extremely sarcastic and has a quip for just about anything, anyone says or does. This often gets him into trouble at school, as when its combined with his usual arrogant attitude, he can instigate fights.

Kaien is cursed with extreme pride. He refuses to admit that he's wrong, or that he could ever even be wrong. He will take up challenges he has no hope of beating, and never shows weakness in front of others.

Because of his generally standoffish personality, he has next to no real friends.

Appearance:

Kaien is a lanky teenager, standing in at 6'0" and weighing 120lbs. He has bright green eyes, and a mop of brown hair. He typically stands with his hands folded over his chest and a smug grin on his face.

He wears clothes with primarily solid colors. Reds, greens, blues, blacks, etc,... He's not a fan of "sayings" shirts, or typical trendy clothes. Jeans and a t-shirt are enough for him.

Although he's not very muscular, he does stay in shape and take care of himself. He has a fairly attractive face, and a toned body. He has a scar on his cheek from a "failed" experiment, and a symbol of a sun he had one of his machines tattoo onto the back of his right hand.

Origin of Power:

Kaien's powers originated from the battle over Karakura. As he was not far away from the town at the time of the battle, he absorbed massive amounts of spiritual energy, activating his powers.

Powers First Stage:

Genius: Kaien's reitsu augments his intelligence, allowing him to build, engineer, design, and use highly advanced equipment. He is extremely resourceful, able to come up with a plan in a pinch to save his own ass, and rarely others.

Memory: Kaein can permanently memorize books, schematics, designs, etc,... As long as he can focus on it for a few moments, he can commit it to memory.

Powers Second Stage:

Telekenisis: Kaien can move and manipulate objects with his mind.

Psionics: Kaien can use psychic energy to form weapons, attacks, effects, etc,...

History/Background:

Kaien was born into the upper middle class Shizu family, his mother dying in childbirth. His father, while a good man, ingrained into his only sons mind that he must forever uphold the pride of the Shizu family, and do everything he could to show that pride.

Until he reached the age of 14, he was home schooled by his father. This is where he gained his pride and arrogance. His father taught him that being a Shizu meant that he was better than everyone else, and to act like it. It didn't matter to Kaien if that was true or not, because by the time his father died and he was thrust out into the world on his own, it was ingrained in his mind.

In his first two years of highschool, he was branded as a loner and outcast. He refused to associate himself with the "dregs" as he called them. Instead, he devoted all of his time to his studies and furthering his own knowledge.

It wasn't until his junior year, and the battle of Karakura that his life changed completely. He discovered his powers while studying the designs of a newly released car, and after memorizing it extremely quickly, he built a mock-up over night.

It wasn't until he invented the Reishi detector that he discovered the existence of spiritual energy, and the abundance of it within him. He realized soon after that he was able to conceptualize, build, design, and engineer things that were once considered impossible.

He quickl began to invent things to make his life easier, and that he could show off to the public. Things that would raise his status, and prove to people that the Shizu name was one nobody was above. Not even god himself.

RP Sample:

Kaien adjusted his three piece suit with careful scrutiny. Not that it wasn't perfect. Not that it mattered either.

After the hot shots of Blue Sun saw his latest creation-scratch that his second latest. He wouldn't give them the special model made for him alone-they would be eating out of the palm of his hand.

He could have been wearing women's lingerie and it wouldn't have mattered.

His car arrived at the testing field, located in the back of the Blue Sun headquarters, and his calculating eyes took on the appearance of each and every member of the board he saw, making sure to pay special attention to Ryuuken Ishida.

Stepping from the car before the driver could even open the door with him, he walked briskly across the gravel laden ground. He kept his head up, and his eyes forward as he passed by the board members without any form of acknowledgment. They were beneath him, as they would soon find out. If anything, they should be bowing to him!

Setting down his brief case and clicking it open, revealed a golden watch. Or at least that's what it appeared to be. It certainly told the time, but it was so much more than a simple watch. And that wasn't just because it was powered by reitsu.

"Apollo. The god of the sun." he began, finally turning to face the members of the board; most of which had angry looks marring their countenances at his arrogance.

It didn't matter.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am aware that the true goal of Blue Sun is to eventually travel to the plane of existence Shinigami exist in, and eradicate them. You are not here solely for our protection."

His green eyes scanned over the shocked faces of the gathered, all but Ruuken's, who returned his gaze calmly. He wanted to know more.

"I present to you a weapon that will allow you to completely over power any of these shinigami you come across. The Apollo Mark One."

With a quick press of a button on his golden watch, a bright blue glow enshrouded his body, the reitsu stored in the small watch forming into a preconfigured solid form.

The armor that soon covered his army was an unpainted silver, the reitsu made steel shining brightly in the sunlight. The armor itself was semi-bulky, a large "backpack" making up most of the rear armor. The chest portion seemed reasonably thick, and the shoulder guards resembled flames shooting off into the sky.

The arm protection seemed a little too thin, and the gloves slightly bulky. However the gloves were small enough to hold a firearm, or a bow easily. On the back of each hand, resided a blue sun, which ran down and into the reitsu sensitive surfaces of the gloves.

The leg armor was started off thick, but tapered off to be much thinner as it reached the foot. The feet had the same design as the hands, a symbol on top, which ran down into a reitsu sensitive surface on the bottom of the foot.

Upon closer inspection of the armor, there were several of the sun symbols located on the shoulders, chest, and back.

The helmet completely covered Kaien's face, a thin black strip with a blue dot in the center served as the visor. The blue dot acted like a scope of sorts, able to magnify and analyze at ranges the normal optics of the suit couldn't.

Flexing the arms and legs of the suit, it revealed that all of the vital parts of the armor were kept inside, covered by a thin layer of armor on the joints.

"With this armor, your agents will become Gods among the rank and file. True incarnations of Apollo."

Holding out his right hand, and pointing it down range, he watched the sun symbol glow brightly, before discharging reitsu across the field and blowing a massive crater in the ground.

"The sun symbols that dot this suit absorb the reitsu in the air, and then discharges it through the palms or feet. The backpack stores spiritual energy, enabling the suit to feel weightless to the wearer, and make all of its features available."

Kaien pressed a small button that popped out of the wrist, and the suit flashed a brilliant blue before returning to the golden watch.

"The Apollo runs off of reishi, and absorbs it from the atmosphere using the symbols. This allows the suit to be fully self sufficient at worst, and strong enough to destroy entire cities at best. The surfaces of the gloves and feet, allow the wearer to fire concentrated reitsu, and deflect blasts that have a lower amount of power than the suit."

He looked into each members stunned face before flashing an arrogant smile.

"Since the suit draws power from its surroundings, the stronger your opponent, the more powerful the suit becomes."

Taking a few steps from the board and locking eyes with Ryuuken, he spoke again.

"Order forms are in the briefcase. I'm sure I'll be hearing from you shortly."

And with that he left, his body filled with the euphoric feeling of pride.
