History/Background:
Age: looks to be around 15 or 16 years old.
Gender: Female
Personality:
Aeria is and always has been an opponent of conflict. She faces the world with squinted eyes and an upturned mouth. Her countenance is peaceful, calm, and amiable. Why make an enemy when you could make an acquaintance, or even a friend? She loved her family, especially her younger brother Amari, and always acted independently, staunchly opposing the views of girls being powerless. Power, after all, does not come in terms of physical strength and being able to beat the enemy to a pulp—no, it comes from a strong willpower. If something must be done, then you must do it without wholly letting another do it for you, then you are nothing more than a pretty, valuable doll being towed around; although Aeria is not violent or pushy in any way. She is a master of beating-around-the-bush and is not averse to telling half, or even quarter-truths as long as she gets her way in the end. She is, in the end, a very agreeable person to be around who is not against having a good time.Appearance:
Despite opposing the ideas of women being marionettes, she is not against teamwork, nor does she believe in denying help when it is offered. If she is in a situation where she needs to find an object, yet knows not where it is, then she will ask anyone who may, on the off chance, know where to find it. What she will not do is stand behind a crowd and allow it to be slaughtered in front of her, nor allow it to all the manual labor; rather, she will stand among the front or in the middle, in an attempt to find another way.
Aeria is a very intelligent girl, but she is also a very modest one. She realizes that being an obnoxious pomp among others is not a good way to make nor keep good company. Sure, she can memorize facts quickly and can calculate logical choices rapidly, but it’s tiring and portrays an elitist aura which she would prefer to avoid. She is a person who loves company and loves to hear laughter and be graced with smiles directed her way, not the opposite, and so she has what she calls a “Personable Personality” where she acts essentially like a ditz in front of others. She is cute, klutzy, and simply irresistible. She may skip instead of walk; laugh instead of stay silent; or propose light, airy venues for time consumption. Why sit around in a squad barracks when you could go shopping? For a walk through the park? Have a wonderful conversion with arms interlocked?
In terms of alcohol, she’s a lightweight and will never take more than a few sips, then just decline further consumption of the substance. Strangely enough, she gets along best with alcoholics because, as she believes, they would rather drink a day away than argue it away and end up with a bloody nose. Also, they’re the types who usually like to do silly, airy activities the similar to those Aeria herself adores.
At around 4’11’’ and 80-ish lbs, Aeria is not a big girl. She short, skinny, and looks young(er than she is? Only she’ll ever know ^.^). To say her muscles were toned would be a dramatic overstatement, and to say that any of her muscles showed through her attire would be a silly statement to make, albeit sarcastically to her face. Aeria wears the traditional Shinigami attire, although in her hair she typically pins a lacquered brooch in the form of an orchid. The orchid is a mix of pinks and yellows, with streaks of white and black, not dissimilar from the appearance of Yuukaku’s robe. There is some speculation that it is related to Yuukaku and is another material form of the spirit aside from the obvious zanpakutou, although no one has seen evidence to prove that, aside from it’s bizarre color-shimmering properties and the fact that it seems to grow luminescent when during Sakisomeru (Shikai form of Yuukaku) and more life-like. All speculation of course.Zanpakuto Spirit:
Aeria’s eyes are a beautiful, rich hazel color, along with her hair which is straight and just below the shoulders in length. She straps Yuukaku around her forearm and over her black Shinigami cloak with a small amount of pink silk. The silk is only gently wrapped around the middle section of Yuukaku, yet for some reason the silk doesn’t fall off unless unwrapped by Aeria nor does Yuukaku slip out of the silk unless drawn.
Yuukaku is a very wise, aristocratic appearing woman with a dash of age evident across her face. Her clothing is extravagant and gravity defying, and takes up twice, even three times as much space as Yuukaku would without it. It gives her the appearance of a large orchid, and one could swear it had an aura of elegance and peace attached to it. Its eye-snatching colors, endlessly beautiful silk-shimmers, and dazzling floral patterns would make anyone pause and simply grovel before it. Really, the dress fits how Yuukaku talks and acts as an individual: with superfluous grace and a demanding atmosphere. Saying no to Yuukaku would be like ignoring the sacred words of the dalai llama, or slapping Gandhi across the face—it’s just something you don’t do. And so the relationship between Yuukaku and Aeria is really perfect. Aeria is, outwardly, a very subservient, peaceful, person who is an avid listener (of her elders); whereas Yuukaku is a demanding, also peaceful person who is an avid talker (what some would call a preacher).Sealed Zanpakuto:
Here’s a picture of what she essentially looks like: the upper petals being the wings of her dress and the white inner stigma being her head and neck. Following downwards are her dress (which follows the lines of color shooting outward), shoulders which rise diagonally upward to a point, and unseen would be her feet. Of course, the dress covers the feet and tails elegantly behind. She’s really quite a beautiful lady for her evident age.
Yuukaku’s realm is an endless garden of dirt pathways with patches of every type and color of orchid desired. In the middle is a brook, aquamarine in color and lifeless. Crossing it is a delightful little stone arched bridge in perfect condition. On one side is a long, but not particularly wide, reflecting pool; on the other side of the brook is a large rock with a flatted surface and a series of stairs circling it to the plateau, which is empty and barren except for an altar of sorts, where a single, rectangular, green stone sits with a large tree growing above it. The tree is rather normal, and it is rather small, but the branches let loose orchids, as opposed to leaves. It is truly a sight to behold, and when atop the large stone, you can see the endless gardens in every direction, and the smell is something that could only be described as ambrosial.
Yuukaku "Orchid" is, in total, 20’’consisting of a 6’’ hilt and an 14’’ blade. The hilt is made of stone resembling malachite with a hardly-noticeable hilt-guard made of gold (hardly-noticeable signifying the fact that it protrudes no more than half an inch). The blade is thin and very light-weight, ending at a very sharp point, though the rest of the blade isn’t particularly sharp. The sheath is simple and black, except for beautiful outlines of golden orchids that were inlayed on the lacquer of the sheath.Shikai Description:
Sakisomeru “Blossom.” Yuukaku turns into a green rod, the same length as the blade and made of the same, malachite-esque material as the hilt. It is a very narrow, fragile seeming baton at about an inch in diameter, except the tip which takes the shape of a flower petal, ending in a sharp point. As one can probably notice, it’s not a particularly efficient weapon for combat; rather, its power comes in the form of its passive ability: Whenever the tip of the baton makes contact, an orchid flower sprouts and blossoms within approximately thirty seconds. The flower itself is not very large, but it feeds on the fighting spirit of the person, taking away their desire to combat another individual. Depending on the pugnacious aspect of that person, it can take between 1 and 4 flowers to eliminate his urge to continue a fight. The downside of this ability is its close-ranged nature, making it a very weak weapon against those who specialize in long-range attacks.Shikai Abilities:
Seeing as this is a rather odd ability, and possibly hard to completely grasp its purpose and end result, I’ll explain here a bit more. I believe examples would best be used here. Here’s a situation with cause-and-effect employment:
For some reason, Aeria comes into a fight with Abarai Renji. They talk a little bit, Abarai starts to get a bit opinionated, and, being a hot-blooded individual, rushes Aeria to prove his point. She unsheathes Yuukaku and releases her Shikai (Sakisomeru) and pricks Abarai on his chest as he rushes at her. Maybe after this, Abarai knees her and she gets propelled backwards. He looks down, notices the flower, and starts to lose some of the heat in his blood. Aeria asks, “Are you sure we can’t talk about this?” Abarai’s head starts wondering why he started fighting in the first place–especially when they could’ve just reasoned it out, but he shakes himself and rushes at her again. Aeria again gives Renji a little pin-prick and another flower starts blossoming on Abarai. He manages to hit her again and give her a black eye or something. By the time the second flower has formed a beautiful red blossom (it feeds off the reiatsu of its vessel as sustenance), Renji painfully puts his thumbs to his temples, his mind telling him to stop this useless violence and solve it nonviolently or not at all. Aeria asks him once more if they could talk about it, and he relaxes his muscles the nonviolent aspect of his mind taking reign. They talk it over, come to a logical conclusion, and are satisfied. No one’s dead, there’re a few bruises, and the orchids—after devouring the pugnacious aspect of the vessel—have withered and dissolved into red shards of reiatsu and dissipated into the environment. Now Renji could once again grow angry and violent, and more flowers would be needed.
So Yuukaku is what one could call a mental-type zanpakutou. She forces a person to use a part of their brain that, perhaps, they don’t often use. Perhaps it’s against their nature, in which case it would require more persuasion (more flowers) to force that person into a nonviolent state of mind.
If a vessel attempts to cut away a flower, it won’t matter. The flower will simply start growing again and keep using more of the person’s violent energy, so as to speak. Supposedly, if one were to dig a hole in their body, they could completely extricate the orchid, but that would not be to one’s advantage.
Also, keep in mind that as of yet, there are only two ways for Aeria to manage to start a flower growing on an individual: physical contact and Umidasu, which uses the air and wind to transport the seeds. It would be fairly easy to dodge Aeria’s pitiful physical attacks, and wouldn’t be hard to evade some seeds in the air, or just blast them away.
-Side Note Regarding Sakisomeru- This doesn’t have to be used on Shinigami, Hollows, Arrancar, etc. It can be used on the ground, buildings, or any other solid object, although just like all flowers, without any form of sustenance, the Orchids will perish relatively quickly and disintegrate into spirit particles.
--Umidasu “Create.” The blossoms let loose seeds that, if they come in contact with a person’s skin, will sprout a blossom having the same effect as if that person had been touched by Yuukaku during its Shikai state. Note: These seeds can easily be destroyed through use of kido, or repelled by control of wind or other repellent. These seeds can’t be controlled by Aeria’s own will.Bankai Description:

History/Background:
Aeria, in the academy, was a somewhat popular person. There were those who were popular for their looks, those popular for their abilities, and those popular for their kindness—the last being why Aeria was popular. She made many friends and got along well with everyone, teachers and students alike. She had dreams of graduating from the academy and becoming a part of either the 8th or the 13th division, idolizing both Ukitake and Kyouraku who seemed to be the most sensible and friendly of all the Gotei 13 captains.RP Sample:
Her outlooks dimmed considerably after her terrible performances with Zanjutsu, Hakuda, and Shunpou, despite her small gift with Kido; however, she persevered and managed to get through the academy mostly as a result of her above-average intelligence and her keen intuition. She eventually managed to get much better at certain areas of Kido, especially those of binding and healing, but she never found much of a talent for any combat Kido, which certainly fit her personality.
One of the aspects that singled her out from many of the other students was her remarkable connection with her Zanpakutou spirit at a very early stage. Yuukaku revealed her name to Aeria very early on and the two were, from that point on, a very close pair. Aeria understood and even made friends with Yuukaku as the days went on. They shared similar views on how to deal with conflicts, and those feelings manifested in the Shikai which Aeria mastered, again, rather early: Sakisomeru.
Aeria’s unique personality as well as her brilliant mind and bond with her Zanpakutou led to her getting accepted into the 8th division after graduating the academy. Her current level allowed her to quickly rise from the beginning twelfth seat to the eleventh seat which pleased Aeria greatly, for she was able to be in the same division as one of her role models, Kyouraku Shunsui, who she simply swooned over.
In the 8th division, she’s never been particularly vigilant about her physical training, preferring that of mind and kido; however, this caught the attention of Kyouraku who, not wanting to do anything himself, decided to tell some one to “assist” her in her endurance and zanjutsu training. Nanao Ise decided to make it one of her obligations, catching Aeria off-guard and demanding her presence at the training fields. She was a brutal coach who pushed Aeria to her limits every week (typically). Nanao constantly swore at Aeria’s incapacity to improve physically, yet she continued the sessions and saw some, albeit small, improvement. Still, she was worse even than some who graduated from the academy. Nanao understood intelligence and the need for it, but she also knew that speed and power were potentially life-saving facets of a body’s capabilities.
Aeria was known to avoid Nanao, as if it were a hide-and-seek game that Nanao had no care for. Many times, Aeria escaped by going to Karakura and shopping with friends. After these days, Nanao would find large baskets of goodies in front of her door, a useless attempt at escaping punishment for avoiding planned training sessions.
She has two known family members, Fara and Amaritsuke (Amari for short) Kilgrov, Mother and younger-brother respectively. She has never heard who her father is or was, or if her mother adopted, but she loves her current family a great amount and loves to bring gifts to the household and visit when she finds some empty time in her schedule.
Aeria appeared in Karakura Town and couldn't help herself from taking a deep breath of the wonderful tasting air of the real world. "It's so nice to come back here. It feels so much less suffocating than Seireitei..." She looked around her and saw some people eking out of their homes and going about their business, many going into shops and flipping over the CLOSED sign to the ever-pleasing and joyous OPEN sign. If there was one thing Aeria loved more than friends, it was OPEN shops: shopping was a wonderful recreational activity.
She managed to notice the sky, and it took her breath away. The clouds held tints of orange, red, and fuchsia, and the slowly rising, cowardly sun peeking over the horizon, granting the majestic colors to the sky.
She blinked and looked back at the buildings around her. Now where were we going to meet again...? She put her index finger on her chin and tapped her other hand's fingers on her thigh. Then she remembered and smiled happily to herself. "Sally's Sweets! That's where we were going to meet each other!"
Aeria started running, practically frolicking down the sidewalk on her way to Sally's Sweets, remembering the way there from yesterday. Maybe I'll even have some time there by myself to browse the delicious candies and chocolates and wonderful things!!!
She finally reached the store and found it not yet open, so she sat on a bench in front of the building next to it and politely collected her hands into her lap, waiting for either the storekeeper to OPEN the store, or for Mashiro to come and greet her, whichever occurred first.
