Personality:

Mijikai is a jokester in short. He tries to turn everything into a joke and thinks he's hilarious. Mijikai has an extremely short temper and gets very anger over stupid things. Mijikai is against fighting except when angry. He also avoids killing or badly wounding his enemies if at all possible.

Appearance:

Mijikai wears the standard shinigami outfit. He stands about 6'2". He is built very muscular and has a tan complexion. He has bright blue eyes. He wears his zanpakuto on his right hip as he is left-handed. He has scruffy short dark brown hair. Also he has a huge scar that stretches from his left shoulder to his right hip. Mijikai weighs about 195 pounds. Also his shinigami attire is missing the whole left side of the torso area so his bandages are in the open.

Zanpakuto Spirit:

The spirit is a old man with a cane dressed in torn extremely baggy clothes. He is about 4 and a half feet tall and has a bushy mustache and long beard and walks with a cane. The old man's name is panchi of course for he is the zanpakuto. He is calm and wise and gets angry when young people make mistakes. He feels there is potential Mijikai but he also feels he is too reckless and foolish.

The inner world is a colorless desert with no vegitation at all just grey sand everywhere.

Sealed Zanpakuto:

The blade is about four and a half feet long. With the hilt regular length. The hilt is a brilliantly light blue to match his eyes. And the guard is shaped like a Star.

Shikai Description:

Pulse Panchi.....

Blade transforms into a staff with a light blue diamond on top. It basically helps him control his reiatsu better. When he strikes stuff it is powered with a blast of reiatsu. (kinda like gambit from X-men). The staff is about 5 feet tall and the staff part is black and as stated before the diamond is blue. The staff is still as hard as a zanpakuto.

Shikai Abilities:

The staff can be flipped upside down so that the diamond is on bottom and Mijikai's reiatsu can form a solid light blue blade around it. Mijkai holds his hands just above the diamond using it as like the knob of a baseball bat. This is no stronger than the regular staff form it merely just gives him a bladed weapon. Isn't really an ability but if it needs to be deleted that's fine.

Pulse - When Mijikai strikes his opponent with the staff it sends a blast of reiatsu that gives an extremely hard punch feeling. (Panchi = Punch). It appears a blue circle that widens from the point of attack. IT also makes a loud dunk noise. (like before similar to gambit from x-men) it can also be used to propel mijikai forward.

History/Background:

During Mijikai's time in the Ryoukongai he lived in a middle class section. When he was just a young child he nearly died just outside the town for he grew extremely hungry after a shinigami passed through the town because he could sense the shinigami's reiatsu and when spirit beings use reiatsu they grow very hungry. Because of this the shinigami fed him and took him to train him to become a shinigami.

Mijikai entered the soul academy as a beginner level student and was not thought of as much. When he did join he was exceptionally fast though. Speed wise only. His ability with kendo was also well above average. However when they began to learn kidou Mijikai quickly fell behind and his kidou always blew up in his face. He lacked concentration and worked as hard as he could on it but nearly drove him self to death.....literally....his kidou never improved so now he doesn't even look that way. Because of his lack of ability in kidou Mijikai spent every day training non stop with his bamboo sword and eventually tied weights to his wrists and ankles to help increase his speed. It was old fashion but it had worked. As they began sparring in the beginners class Mijikai would make his challenges outside the academy and fight with his weights on. He purposely hid them so that it wouldn't be noticed and even then he began to take them on with ease and was moved to the advanced class. There he continued to fight with the weights but found it difficult. After a while he removed the weights and found his speed incredible. After another year Mijikai graduated from the academy after being there for nearly 13 years. So he had about 11 years with the weights giving him great speed. He was picked to join the 11th squad for his great kendo and speed yet lack of kidou.

After being assigned to the 11th squad he was assigned to the real world for he was not given a seated position for he was new and needed to prove himself. He could easily take care of hollows for he was far too fast for any to keep up with. However though he was above average speed he wasn't insanely untouchable by shinigami or arrancar for that matter which would cost him greatly. While in the real world Mijikai encountered an arrancar. He was ordered if ever he did to report it and await a ranked officer. However, being short on time as the arrancar was beginning to leave Mijikai tried to confront the arrancar without violence but as they conversed his short temper got the best of him and he attacked. He fought well as he was faster than his opponent but gradually the arrancar gained the advantage and with a devastating blow the arrancar nearly sliced Mijikai in half as he had a cut from his left shoulder to his right hip. The arrancar showed mercy and left him there. Mijikai eventually was rescued by a ranked shinigami and returned to soul society. He was treated for his wound but they couldn't fully heal it and he wears special bandages over his entire torso at all times because of this (like the ones ichigo wore when he arrived for his final battle against Byakuya).

After his complete recovery Mijikai decided to pursue after this arrancar for he needed to defeat his now greatest foe in order to regain his pride. Because orders from the soul society got in his way Mijikai argued with the captains to try and get permission to leave and pursue the arrancar but they continuously denied him. Angry, Mijikai made his escape into the rukongai during a quiet night that he was on guard duty in Sereitei. He opened a gate to the living world and disappeared now a rogue from the Gotei 13.......

RP Sample:

The night was black and silent in the Sereitei. No one was aware of the betrayal that was about to occur. Walking along the top of a wall in the sereitei with his hands in his pockets Mijikai was on his guard duty. His partner decided to take a nap which would make this far easier. Using incredible speed he shunpoued towards the southern gate of sereitei which was closest to him. Almost instantly in about 4 shunpous he reached the gate. There were for guards at the gate standing in a group talking.

Instantly Mijikai shunpoued behind one of them and struck him with his sheathed zanpakuto. However he continued this swing so it struck the girl next to him. They both fell unconcious. Moving quickly he punched the two remaining men in the jaw one after the other. THe four guards fell unconcious. Mijikai looked at the gate and walked over to it. He punched it three times. Slowly it rose about 8 feet. The enourmous guard was holding it open. Mijikai nodded at him and he nodded back. He slowly and silently lowered it as mijkai passed through and slowly walked to the open gate.

"Almost too easy."

Mijikai grinned as he passed through the gate that closed behind him.

It might be trivial, but your character's weight could be included.

I'd like to see more of the Zanpakuto spirit's personality, and a name to go with that personality.

When you say "The staff can be flipped upside down and Mijikai's reiatsu can form a solid light blue blade around it" what, exactly do you mean?

I'd like you to go over your app once more for a final check to make sure everything flows properly.
I.E.
"When he was just a young child he nearly died just outside the town for he grew extremely hungry after a shinigami passed through the town."

This could be taken many ways, but odds are, only one is right.
Did the Shinigami come by, eat all his food, then let him starve?
Did he pass out as the Shinigami passed him by?

Try making it two sentences to clear this up please.
