Personality:

Maria is a harsh straight forward person. if annoyed she will blatently say it and if it continues she will resort to threats and violence. she has a love for wolves, dogs, and foxes and will go out of the way to make sure they go unharmed. She also participated in witch/vampire hunts. and if the opportunity presents itself she will hunt these "witches"and vampires (possesed humans and demi-hollow). She is pasionate about her work, and hates the fact that her abilities are changing her to become more like the creatures she is hunting.
In battle she barely becomes a demon, moving fast and getting the hit in before the opponet can even draw there weapon. She perfers point blank shots favoring acuracy and power over her protection.

Appearance:

she is from brazil and has long brown hair and brown eyes. she is 5' 3" and weighs 132lbs she is slender and has an athletic build. Maria also has a hollow scar stretching from her shoulder to the middle of her lower back. she wears a red collared shirt and black leather trench coat. she also wears blue jeans and high heeled boots.

Origin of Power:

In 1955 Maria was working for the military's experimentation program. One day Maria came back from a hunt for a vampire attacking children at night. She was needed for a quick radiation experiment, and there was no time for getting ready. When she got there she had to enter the waiting room while others were being tested. She brought her kit which included holy water, wooden stakes, silver bullets and a number of other items. Maria was messing with her supplies when an explosion happened blowing up part of the compound, and sending chunks and bits flying everywhere. She escaped unharmed but the radiation got to Maria and mutated her genes giving her mysterious powers. She could now tell exactly where the heritics were hiding and could now execute them with heightened precision and acuracy. Maria never aged again, she was becoming more like her prey.

Special Abilities:

Powers First Stage:

(1) Auto-da-Fé- Equivalent to the shinigami soul burial. This canot be done without a Bala Santamente.
(2) Bala Santamente- enchants maria's bullets to do increased damage so it is on par with a zanpakto (damage wise[still can be doged/blocked]) Over time Maria can upgrade her bala to do diffrent things like explode or stun.

Powers Second Stage:

Esfera do Sangue- Maria carries with her small red orbs 3" in diameter. These orbs feed off reiatsu, and by combining diffrent incantaions Maria can use them. When used they can fire energy at the enemy this energy comes into several shapes. These are divided into levels The higher the level the more difficult it is. She carries 4 orbs at a time, and each ability uses one up.

(1)córrego do fogo- a stream of fire shoots forward from the orb and atempts to wrap the target in flame.
(2)trovão de ardência- The orb leaves the users hand and bursts into flame the resulting wisp(ball of spirit energy) then floats around and tries to attack the opponent. and if it hits it moderately stuns the opponent.
(3)sepultura da água- The orb starts to melt and water gushes forth to flood the battle field. It covers 200 square feet and floods the streets or ground up to 8 ft. If an opponent falls into it it acts as quicksand trapping the victim.

History/Background:

As a child Maria was a sweet girl. She helped her family when needed. and never fought. The family lived on a farm outside rio de janeiro and grew enough crops to live free and sell for profit (the area was high in spirit energy causing the crops to grow faster/bigger etc). The family consisted of the father Ricardo, the mother Juliana, the grandmother Renata, and herself. When it was harvesting time Maria and her grandmother would go out to the field and harvest the crops. One day they were happily picking the maize when Maria saw something at the edge of the field. She called out to it and it responded with a turn of the head. Maria then saw it, Bright yellow eyes surounded by a white face. Maria was terrified she could not move, could not blink. The grandmother then saw the creature and tried to get maria to move. The creature looked around and lunged. Maria's grandmother got in front of her and tried to shield her. The monster attacked the grandmother, and ripped at her till there was no more. Maria stood striken when she saw her grandmother lying on the ground covered in blood. The monster noticed and turned towards her. It started forward and came at her. Maria turned away and ran but was to late, the monster had clawed her back and left a scar that would stay with her until her death. The monster came again and readied another attack but stopped. It turned to its left and then fell into dust. Maria looked over and saw a flash of white but a moment later it was gone.
Maria cried herself to sleep that night. The parents already knew something was strange about maria but passed it off as nothing but now they were afraid. They took her into town and gave her to the church to take care of. Maria learned alot there. She learned to read, to write, to do numbers, but most importantly she learned religion. She learned that the things that attacked her grandmother were demons of hell. and that they thrived in this world killing many. Maria then decided she would help the world and hunt the demons. Maria lived there for a while then she joined the army where she fought and was experimented on. The army and the hunts changed Maria. She was no longer that same sweet girl that died 8 years ago, she was harsh, and cold, and straight to the point. During one of the experiments she gained new powers unlike any ever seen before. She could now tell what was going on and could kill more efficiently. Both the church and the army left her. She was alone now, she was now a rouge witch hunter, wanted by nobody, and hated by all.

Maria was crouching in the grass her hands on the ground, her gun at the hip, and her feet ready to move. There was an unearthly sream, It was time to move. Maria jumped to her feet, and took off running through the trees Dang, this ones fast! Maria ran faster flying through the brush following the reiatsu of her prey. The energy was slowing its pace It stopped what's going on here? Maria closed in on the source and then she broke the trees.
What lay before her was a wide field at the bottom of a cliff with a river flowing out of the side and into the field. There she saw it At the base of the cliff was a huge circle of men in purble robes. In the center stood a black shimering disk of energy. Maria backed up and then ran off the cliff. She landed in the ring between the disk and a man
"May I ask what is going on here gentlemen?"
The men started humming and chanting, and one of them stepped forward towards the disk.
"Oh no you dont"
Maria pulled her gun and Shot the man putting a bullet through his chest. He fell and he didnt just land, he went through the disk realeasing blue smoke.
"dam!"
A rumble started in the ground and out of the hole came a white head the size of a person.
The men started screaming "Praise him! he has returned!"
Maria replied with a sigh. "I hate cultists"
The demon rose out of the ground standing as tall as an american skyscraper with a nose just as long.. It wore with a black cloak, and a spiked necklace with curled white boots. It began to destroy the land and the people who summoned it, stomping and crushing the people and the cliff side.
Maria needed to act fast. She jumped back into the air and started shooting away the bullets shot true,but did nothing. The bullets bounced harmlesly off the demons cloak, and did nothing save irratate it. The demon turned and tried to kick maria, but she simply grabed its boot and fliped over. She shot some more but nothing worked. She landed on the cliff edge and stared the demon down. Why cant I hurt him, I realy dont want to use "That".
The demon looked at maria then it seemed to smirk a red glowing grin. then it oppened its mouth and revealed a red ball of demonic energy. What in hell is that? The ball grew larger and then a beam shot from it.
"This is gonna be bad."
She jumped and braced herself to lessen the blow, but it still hit her. Maria flew back the air and the energy pressing her from all sides. She was pushed into the earth and was left crushed under dirt and rocks.
The demon moved forward. This won't end well if i dont do it. Maria whispered "Bala santamente" and grabed the action loading the gun. The demon oppened its mouth and came in to devour Maia.
"Die."
She shot and it hit home right through his head. It fell and crashed to the ground. Maria came out of the rubble and stood in front of the demon.
"You know? I realy hate you... Auto da Fe."
Maria shot it and it disapered into dust. Just then Maria felt a surge of demonic energy, and the hole grew wider and from it came many more demons that looked just like the one killed.
"well here we go again" And she jumped off the cliff....
