History/Background:
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Personality:
Rath could easily be described as the "silent type if anything. A man of few words, Rath only speaks when spoken too or if there is need for such things. As a quincy, Rath lets his bow do the talking for him.Appearance:
Like most Quincy, Rath is prideful, though his pride is divided amongst a number of things. Rath is foremostly proud to be a quincy, an archer of great skill and ability. Secondly, Rath is proud to be a Mongolian, another people known for thier archery skill in battle. Rath holds true to both of these heritages and identfies himself as a Mongol Quincy.
Rath doesn't have many normal hobbies. Growing up on the steppes and grasslands of inner mongolia, Rath spends his time in the wilderness. He spends his free time hunting game or simply practicing his archery. He's is adept at living off the land and is used to a solitary life. That said, Rath isn't very used to other people in general and isn't much for socializing. He's very serious and streight forward as well as honest. He'll often swear on his pride to prove his honesty to others.
As a Mongolian, Rath has a certian love for the outdoors and the open plains. Though he lives in the urban confines of Japan at present, he prefers to camp out in the woods instead of renting an apartment.
Quincy Abilities:
Rath as senn with his horse, Ogedei
Ratth's appearance is nothing special. He looks much like any asian would with slanted almond eyes and a light tan skin. He is usually clean shaven as opposed to the typical mongolian man whom may grow a manchu type mustache. His hair is slightly long and very straight, reaching the bottom of his neck at the back and sides. He has silver earings on both ears, which are a keepsake of his mother.
Rath is of a moderately strong build, having lived in the wilderness for some time he has become very fit from simply qorking to make a living and survive on his own.
Rath normally wears traditional clothing, a durable brown robe with traditional pattern type trim, along with a pair of cotton pants. He always wears his favorite brown bandana, which his father gave to him. This combination is his equivalant to Uryuu's Quincy outfit, as he prefers to wear it to show his pride and for when he is fighting.
Of course wearing such clothing in Japan is likely to draw som uneccesary attention to one's selve, and no doubt that his favorite clothes would tear and smell with enough wear.
So casual clothing for Rath is usually something around the lines of a simple t-shirt with a simple logo, perhaps of a band he might listen to (though he doesn't listen to a lot of music), or whatever he can find. He'll wear simple blue jeans, perhaps lighter with an acid wash color to it or a darker pair. During colder months he'll sport a scarf and a jacket, mut he never overdresses since he's used to colder mongolian climates. Point being, Rath doesn't dress very flashy in civilian clothing, he just gets whats cheapest and easy on the eyes and just goes with it. He deeply wishes he could go back to mongolia and pick up a couple more outfits of traditional wear.
Rath discovered his quincy abilities at the age of seven, but had been training for it since four. As the son of a mongolian nomad, and mongol who still clinged to the old ways, Rath was trained as an archer and a horse rider since before he could talk. His training as a quincy began before his powers were even present due to the high quincy birth-rate within his family. He actaully began seeing spirits at the age of seven and began to clearly develop his quincy powers afterwards. By eight, he could weild a quincy bow just as well as he could weild the bow of a mongol archer, with deadly aim and profeciency. From his basic training as a quincy and as a nomad, Rath has strung together a unique fighting style as a quincy, however this style has need of one key element: A horse.Skill Level: Marksmanship: Advanced
A living horse has no place on the battlefeild of spirits, surely it would not survive long and would only hinder its quincy master, but without a mount, Rath finds himself without any major advantage and a limited range of style. The solution to this problem was happened upon purely by chance.
While in Japan and hunting hollows, Rath found a strange hollow unlike any he had ever seen. A horse-hollow, an adjuchas class horse hollow. BUt this hollow seemed to be missing several parts of its instinct and ability. For one, it had stopped consuming other hollows after its evolution to an adjuchas class, instead it feeds of of the reietsu collected in the quartz trees of Hueco Mundo, or even the grass of soul society could provide nutrition, whatever is rich with reietsu is edible for this creature. Also, this hollow lacks the intelligence of an Adjucha. Whether it was just up to chance or just brain damaged, the point remains that it possesses no speech skills and has the intelligence of your typical horse. It also seems that this hollow is missing half the powers hollows normally have. Mainly, it cannot use cero at all. It does have some limited hierro/hollow skin, but could still be cut by a zanpaktou. If there is one thing that this hollow can do right, its sonido. Suitable for a horse-like hollow, it can run at high speeds as well as use short bursts of sonido. THis might explain how such a dumbed down and weak adjucha managed to survive on its own. Rath managed to tame and train this hollow, and with a horse of his own, he can ride to battle against hollows. The hollow might even have developed feelings for its new master, or perhaps its at least smart enough to know that survival is easier when you have another being to protect you. Yeah, the hollow can't even really attack things in battle, it can solely serve as a mount.
Dual Seele Schneider: Mongol Cavalry Style: Rath carries two modified Seele Schneiders with him as a close range weapon. They're both shorter than a typical sword, perhaps kodachi length or shorter, but longer than a wakizashi. He holds them out at both sides while charging foward on his horse. With quick and simple switching motions, he can attack with both to the left and right, or slash on both sides. This is an effective charge technique as well as a good weapon to have when caught in close quarters combat.
Arrow Storm - Rath charges a shot for a considerable 10 seconds or longer to build reishi within the single, large arrow. Afterwards he fires it high into the air. The balance or reishi within the arrow is imbalanced and causes it to dive toward the ground after hitting the top of its trajectory. Once it starts its nose-dive, the arrow divides into a hundred normal sized quincy arrows and fall upon the opponent like rain.
