With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Aoide laughed as the boy ran towards her, she held her blade in front of her. It was time to let him know that some battles weren't worth fighting. "Sing, Yobirin Masurao,' she spoke as the boy drew near, her voice suddenly lost as the blade absorbed it. It vibrated in her hand as the boy's blade made connection with her own, and just as it seemed to slid towards her, threatening to slip and cut into her. Aoide's blade exploded, she flipped backward out of the smoke. Her blade her naganita, when she came to a stop and regained her balance she spun it around, she smirked, she really liked her skirt in her shikai form.
"What if you do join Squad 11, what then? Move through the ranks? Are you so sure that you're strong enough even to do that. What are you truly looking for?" she asked as she blade stopped spinning, she held it behind her back, her stance casual again, "You must ask yourselves these things, because when you're in Squad 11, you will have to fight many battles you might not want to, believe in, or are afraid to be in. Once you've been in Squad 11, even if you leave, you will always be part of that squad."
Tsugaru's face lit up as his blade started to slip towards her but it was foolish of him to think that it would actually connect. Even with him pouting his energy into it she had simply activated her shikai. He coughed up a storm as the explosion when off in his face. His face was now covered in soot and his face dropped in it's seriousness for a moment. No doubt any other by standers were getting their five laughs but it was too bad he didn't have time to wipe his face. As he thought for a moment on how ridiculous he looked Aoide cut through his thoughts with a barrage of questions, all of which he had an answer for.
If? There is no if... even in the small chance I don't join today, I will keep training and coming back until I DO make it onto the squad. I will train every day if I have to do become an asset to Mr. Zaraki and it's never crossed my mind, leaving the squad when I join because only death will sever my service."
He knew he was going a little over board and being a little preachy but he meant everything he said. It was usually hard for him to turn off his "program" when fighting, it was in his instinct to fight and no jokes, emotion, or other superfluous things could get in the way of him accomplishing his goals in those moments. He truly became another man when he fought.
"So challenge me, so I may prove my self worthy to my captain!"
and with that he jumped back several feet away from Aoide and hurled Shibatsu at her with everything he had. Even if she did manage to bash Shibatsu away with her zanpakuto, Shibatsu would pursue her relentlessly until commanded to do otherwise.
"Baka," Aoide spoke, reflecting the boy's attack, stepping backwards with each hit, "You were the one who came to Squad 11 requesting to become a member, you were the one looking for a challenge, you were so eager to prove yourself you didn't even seem to think that maybe you're battling the wrong person, maybe someone who s in Squad 11," Aoide spoke her eyes hardening, he was starting to annoy her. Then her foot hit the wall, distracting her for a moment, and the boy's blade ripped across her shoulder. Aoide let out a yell of rage before grabbing him by the robes and slamming him into the ground.
She then let out a low laugh as she touched the injury, pulling her hand away and looking at the blood, "You have spirit though, and you're not giving up," she studied the boy before turning away and walking toward Kenpachi, "Eh, you should let him join, least he has spunk."
As Tsugaru's blade cut her he couldn't have felt more accomplished... but that lasted for a split second as he was too caught up in the moment of achievement and was slammed, by her, onto his face into the ground. He coughed and sputtered a bit as the dust and blood cleared his mouth. He couldn't really catch what the lady has said at first until she addressed Kenpachi. That's he raised his head quickly and started shouting.
"Hey!!! The captain didn't tell you to stop! and who says that I'm finished!"
He coughed a bit more at the end of his shouting and struggled against the woman’s power holding him down. He called Shibatsu back to him but even she had reverted back to her original zanpakuto form.
Damn it, Shibatsu! Cutting out on me early!? what is the meaning of this!?
He, of course, got nothing back from Shibatsu. She never replied to him when he was yelling. All he could do was look up to the man he admired most and hope that his display had been enough to make it into the squad. He HAD cut the lady but would that be enough to impress him... he hoped so but even if not he would leave, train, and come back for more.
Aoide lifted an eyebrow and stared at the boy, she put a hand on her hip before smiling, "Not my Captain," she said sounding apologetic, "I fought you because I wanted to, so I can stop whenever I want to. Psh you think he orders me around?" she asked pointing a thumb at Kenpachi, "Please, just be lucky I was there or he would have fought you instead, and then you probably would have exploded either from his Spiritual Pressure or from your admiration of him," Aoide turned and walked back to the boy, offering a hand out to him to help him up, she gave him a patent Squad 11 pointed grin, "Aoide Sato, third seat of Squad 10. I use to be in this jerk's squad," she said motioning her head to Kenpachi, "Don't wrry about it, for being right out of the academy I'm pretty impressed, your brash and bold, something that goes well with being in Squad 11, trust me I know."
A chuckle errupted from Kenpachi's throat, the only sound he had made since the beginning of the duel. However, now that the fight was over, there was no real need for the man to stay silent to allow them to concentrate.
"Ya did good..." Kenpachi said simply, rising to his feet and walked over to the boy. "... 11th squad member, Tsugaru."
He grunted. "You start tommorow, show up in the mess hall at six in the morning, a milisecon' late and I'll have ya scrubbin' the toilets, got it? The rooms are upstairs and down the hall. Jez pick a free one."
Turning his attention from the boy to Aoide, he sighed slightly. "Ya got caught off guard. Maybeh' ya shouldn't underestimate yer opponents. Even pervs."
He laughed at his own statement, taking a hand and ruffling the young woman's hair. "Ya can stop by around nine or so... Yachiru should be asleep around then."
Tsugaru listened on as Aoide explained herself and he breathed in a large gout of air as she released her step on his rib cage. It was funny what she said about him exploding from his own admiration but it was probably close to true, Kenpachi was a legend. The lady then walked over and offered her hand to him, as he took it she introduced herself and even though she had just beaten his ass, he smiled warmly at her.
Aoide... the lady I had to fight to get into squad eleven
He wiped the back of his now tattered sleeve across his face to get rid of the soot on his face and spun around to face Kenpachi as he spoke. Between the acceptance into squad eleven and the compliment he got from his new captain, it took all the reservation in his body not to physically explode. All he could manage was a deep bow before the man he could now call captain. Now all he needed to do was gain more power and become a strong part in Kenpachi's squad. It was his new goal and he would strive for it with everything he had, as he did most everything. He rose from his bow, memorized his orders and began to speak.
"Thank you captain! Mess hall, six in the morning, understood, sir! May I take my leave?"
He had to get away from everyone where he could celebrate and shout his head off, all of this was just too great and his excitement was bound to get out of control.
Aoide pouted as her hair was ruffled, her eye narrowing before she smirked, her blade glistening against the light, she glanced back at the boy and grinned through seceral misplaced strands of hair, "Hey don't leave," she spoke before looking to Kenpachi and bringing her nanagita up in a defensive stance. Suddenly her Resitu flared up around her, practically filling the small room they were in. Her brown eyes glowed yellow. Instantly the wound on her shoulder stopped bleeding. She looked at Kenpachi with a smirk on her face, "Well want to show your newest member what he's in for when it comes to Squad 11?" she asked her voice sounding like it was echoing.
He sighed, so... she was in one of those moods, huh? Why she had been holding back against the guy, he didn't know. The kid deserved to learn some endurance and also learn to get used to getting treated at the 4th.
Anyone who was in the 11th had to get used to that and fast.
"Hn." He grunted as the girl released much of her reiastu. "... Fine."
In a flash, he drew his weapon, immediatly striking at her held weapon with enough force that would obviously throw her backwards. He smirked, though he usually didn't fight with girls, Aoide and Yachiru seemed like the only two that could really keep up. Other then the captains, of course.
"Flaring Reiastu without having yer guard up is not a great idea." He smirked and turned his head to the boy. "If ya wanna watch, then take some sake."
He laughed heartily and reached into his robes before pulling out a tiny vial and tossing it to him.
With a smile on his face, the man turned back to his combatant before leaning his blade lazily on his shoulder. "Ya ready to continue?"
Aoide grimaced as she was thrown backwards, the one thing she had learned about sparring with Kenpachi was...don't let him hit you. Which was great for Aoide, considering she was more speed then heavy hits anyway. She slid across the floor of the training area, even past the boy to make room between her and Kenpachi, might as well let the force of his hit do some good. "Che," was Aoide's response to Kenpachi when he asked if she was ready. "Sing," she spoke letting a sonic boom crash into the ground in front of Kenpachi. Aoide disappeared in the dust she had created. She liked fighting against Kenpachi for the main reason he was loud! Not only the bells in his hair, but his general mannerism when he battled, giving her plenty of fuel for the fire. She disappeared and reappeared around Kenpachi several times, mostly just to have her blade deflected, but she gave a pointy grin as her blade his a few soft spots.
