With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Tsugaru had run from the academy to the squad eleven barracks almost immediately after he had graduated. He had always known what squad he would join once he had finally graduated but wasn't very sure whether or not they would accept him but he would treat it as he treated his time at the academy, with every shred of determination within him. As he rounded one of the many stone walls he had come up on the barracks themselves and was able to slow himself down for a few moments. As he walked slowly, gasping for air, he looked around for anyone that might be able to give him some sort of direction to what, or whom rather, could get him joined into the eleventh.
He spotted, what he thought, an extremely attractive woman and started slinking his way over to her. She had apparently caught him out of the side of her eye because her pace suddenly quickened and she made it away from him before any damage could be done. Shut down and just now able to catch his breath he wandered around at the front of the barracks in the hope that he might find someone that could help him in his quest, all the while a large and almost stupid grin covering his face.
Good lord, what was it about Squad 11 guy and hitting on her? Aoide would have thought after hanging out within the Squad's training room that most of them would know to leave her the hell alone. She would have kicked his ass if she hadn't been given a stern talking to by her Captain. Instead, Aoide gave him a death glare and took off towards one of her favorite places to hide from her Captain, and paperwork. She easily jumped onto the roofs, using it as her own personal walkway before hopping through and open window and plopped down on a couch.
"Some baka was trying to put the moves on me, any chance you could use a cattle prod to keep your squad from drooling?" Aoide asked crossing her legs and looking at her nails as she relaxed in Captain Kenpachi Zaraki's office. She threw her arms up, "I mean come on, they act like the only owman that come to Squad 11 are the ones that want sex or something!" her voice raised a little before she snorted and sank down in the chair.
"Aoide..." He said, not looking up from his desk, apparently, he was inspecting something on it. The captain couldn't be... reading could he?! "Ya ever heard of a door? It's a thing that people usually use to get into a room. Ya know, the one that's not made of thin sheets?"
He looked up after a second, filing away a messy stack of papers.
"That reminds me." Kenpachi nearly growled, "Ya still owe me for that window. Don't think I've forgotten." "Some baka was trying to put the moves on me, any chance you could use a cattle prod to keep your squad from drooling?"
"No." Zaraki deadpanned. He then looked over to the window. "Ain't my fault all the girls that graduate from the acadamey run from the idea of the 11th."
"Apart from whore houses, most the guys here probably ain't even ever spoken to a girl before." He laughed, before standing up swiftly.
His office was somewhat small, but it was cozy. Along the walls, there were random drawings that had been plastered up by a certain preschool girl with pink hair. Surprisingly, there wasn't any blood to be seen, and the floor was actually clean to point that the burgundy wood was actually shining.
Walking over to the window, he quickly peered outside to see what Aoide was talking about. "Eh, who the hell is that?"
Poking his head out, he raised an eye at the stranger. "What the hell do you want?"
Tsugaru didn't know the mistake he had made by ogling that girl but any thought that might have gone into it was stopped short by a man shouting at him. Tsugaru looked up just in time to see the man that he had been idolizing for the past year or so at his stay in the academy and he realized that if there were ever a man to talk to get into squad eleven, it was him. He quickly snapped to attention and raised his right hand to his brow in salute. Perhaps the man in the window wouldn’t be able to see the small beads of sweat starting to form on his forehead.
"My name is Surumi Tsugaru and I have come to join your squad, sir! What ever it takes!"
He wondered then, for a second, what it would mean for his future to do what ever it took but he meant what he said. Unfortunately he couldn't get the grin off of his face and would probably find himself needing to explain why he was acting like such an idiot. Part of him just hoped the man would be more kind then he looked and invite him in to talk about joining...
"Well Pachi-san, you keep leaving your window open and I like to use the roofs for travel, you have a better way to get from the roof to your office I'd like you to tell me," she pouted just a little, she liked coming through the window, not only was it dramatic, it also seemed to surprise Kenpachi somewhat when she randomly came flying through the window. "Yeah, Yeah window, I've already ordeed some nice pink, flowery paper, to replace it," Aoide looked almost bored as she watched Kenpachi get out of his chair and head over to the window. Curiously, she followed him and peered underneath his arm.
"Hey, the pervert," Aoide said casually leaning out the window, resting her chest on her arms, not realizing it was pushing the top of her chest just to peek a little out of her robe. She grinned evilly, the smile only Squad 11 members could really do, and also they all learned it from their Captain. "Baka," she spat before turning her back on him and leaning against the sill. "My bad, he wasn't Squad 11. I should have known something was up when he didn't try to grope me right away or offer to show me his Zanpaktou," Aoide rolled her eyes.
"Hey, the pervert, Baka. My bad, he wasn't Squad 11. I should have known something was up when he didn't try to grope me right away or offer to show me his Zanpaktou."
He sighed at her antics, shaking his head rather amusedly. The bell tied to the tips of his hair rang ever-so-slightly, to to his slight head movement.
"Gaki. 'Brat.' " Kenpachi started, turning his head slightly to address said girl. "It's because of that that the lil' white maggot don't want you around here."
"I think you secretly enjoy it or somethin'." Kenpachi smirked, taking on a tone that said that he wasn't serious at all. He knew that it was the attitude that some of the men here had towards her which hurt her so bad. "... You ain't ever stop talkin' about it either."
He cracked a smile at her before turning his attention back to the man below.
"My name is Surumi Tsugaru and I have come to join your squad, sir! What ever it takes!"
"That so...?" A smile crept upon the infamous captain's face. "Whatevah' it takes? Tell me boy, you think you got what it takes be an 11th?"
He chuckled loudly, looking at him, it seemed like the boy was going to break down right there and then. "You think you got what it takes... to beat her?"
He smiled and thrust a thumb behind himself at said woman, laughing loudly as he did so.
Tsugaru threw his hand back down by his side and almost leapt back at what the captain had said to him. He had no idea what that girl could do but he wouldn't let it daunt him. If he couldn't fight to achieve his dreams then what had he been doing this whole time?
"Sir, I have no idea the power that girl might wield but if I have to fight her and win to join the eleventh squad then I will do as you wish."
With that he took a defensive stance and dropped his hand back to where his zanpakuto was sheathed. He didn't even know if the girl would agree with what the captain had said but he had learned at the academy that the only way to be prepared for anything was to expect anything and for all he knew, she could come bashing through the wall straight at him in the next few moments. This would be unlike any of the training he had undergone at the academy but most of the time he came out on top when fighting others in hand to hand and when facing challenges of speed. If this lady used spells, though, he would find himself in the medic ward... or worse.
For a few moments his thoughts trailed to Shibatsu and he gently stroked the cloth that covered her handle. Te grin that had once plagued his face dissipated and a much more stern look came about his face.
Aoide smirked putting her head in her hand, "Really?" she spoke rolling her eyes and glaring at the kid, "He's so twitchy though, and he wants to be in Squad 11, let him fight your third seat," she spoke crossing her arms and looking rather annoyed. She then turned and looked the boy straight on and batted her long eyelashes and looked at him with bored, brown eyes, "You don't want to fight me do you?" she spoke her voice barely over a whisper, but seemed to float around the boy. Power of suggestion? Aoide would give it a try, she had been trying to see if she could get people to do what she wanted just by using her voice and a little Spiritual Energy. Note to herself, Kenpachi hitting her upside the head when she had tried was not a good thing. But then again, he might have thought she was hitting on him, she would have to ask later.
Aoide gave a pointy grin as she let her carefully controled Spiritual Energy explode around her in a bright yellow aura, "Trust me, you really don't," she added.
He laughed, so this kid really did have guts huh? "What, you ain't afraid to hit a girl? Those acadamey freaks din't teach you about... what that word... -oh! ...chivalry?"
"Well, don't they?" He knew full that the academy did hold classes in that respect, hoping to be impressionable on new, young students. One thing was sure though, today, he was going to crush that train of thought.
"You don't want to fight me do you?"
Hearing that tone of voice, he resisted the urge to roll his eyes and whack her upside the head. And she wondered why men thought all she thought about was sex.
Well... men in the 11th, anyways.
"Trust me, you really don't."
Most people would have moved out of the way at such a spike of reiastu; however, Kenpachi simply stood there, not caring the the parts of his robe that were closest to her were starting to singe.
Seeing the boy get into a ready stance, he simply raised an eyebrow before chuckling. The guy had a look of determination in his eyes, one that he liked. He also was ready, another aspect about the boy that Ken liked. This was a good sign.
"Baka." He deadpanned at the boy below. "The streets aren't suitable for sparring. Come inside the barracks, we'll meet you down there."
Without another word, he left the window, and started towards the door.
"C'mon Gaki." Kenpachi said, "Ain't I been hearin' about how you've been itchin' for a fight?"
Tsugaru didn't know what to feel after the lady had made such a sexy suggestion. He really didn't want to fight her, not because she was a woman though. He just didn't see the point in senseless fighting but this match would be anything but. It was a pretty conflicting feeling all together but it was instantly dashed at the woman released, quite possibly, the most powerful spiritual pressure he had ever felt. Taxing wasn't really the word for it, gasping for air from the physical exhaustion was more like it. Even as the captain began to speak again he found himself really testing his stamina just to stay on his feet and it was plain to see that he was wincing. If he hadn't been ready for it he would have probably been dropped to the ground, which would have probably been the most embarrassing outcome of the day.
The captains words were liberating though as he chastised him for wanting to fight here and then. He suggested they move into the barracks and Tsugaru nodded as best he could under the pressure. He then, very shakily, made his way into the barracks and stood up once he could get his grip on one of the walls to help him steady himself.
Damn... How could I hope to beat someone like that? I had better find one hell of a weakness in her fighting style or this is going to be a short fight with a long stay in the infirmary...
This thought and others coursed his mind as he waited for the two to join him in the lower part of the barracks.
