With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.

Jugo had turned around and managed to avoid the deathblow that Sobek had meant for him, it was still incapacitating nonetheless. Sad really, that he had to strike down Jugo. It wasn't like Sobek took some sadistic glee out of it. To Sobek, it was just his job. Jugo's final words before he fainted caused Sobek to tilt his head slightly.
"...That you did."
Sobek's cero had apparently missed Adan as the buzz of Sonido sounded a short distance away from him. Adan's humorless smile caused Sobek's brow to arch.
"Get away from him." Adan said flatly.
Sobek withdrew his Khopesh from Jugo's body while keeping his eye on Adan.
"Or what? You know the fate of those who betray." Sobek glanced toward the pillar that Jugo was supposed to guard, and thought about things for a moment.
"I'll make you a deal. Come back willingly and accept your punishment, I'll even put in a good word. We'll take Jugo with us, get him to Matanza and I'll even ignore his transgression. He'll be good as new and you get to keep your new friend."
Of course, they would both likely hate him for it but his mission was just to bring Adan back what happened after was not his concern. Jugo was unconcious and bleeding on the ground.
"Tick tock, boy,...what do you say?"

So now he was hearing voices yelling in his dying ears. Why haven't I passed on yet? Am I just not ready to die or is this a cruel joke being played on me by some higher power? Jugo's eyes barely opened to see with faded vision Sobek talking with Adan. Adan looked mad, not that he blamed him, Jugo was pretty awesome.
He had no strength to fight as he could feel his life was reaching its final leg. As much as he wanted to help, he just couldn't do anything. That is until he thought of something, a plan that would probably help in a way.
Mustering as much strength as he could, Jugo fired a moderate Cero toward Sobek. However, it flew past the yellow eyed bastard as if his faded vision caused him to miss, but that was not the truth. In reality he was aiming for the pillar and truly fainted when he saw that it didn't destroy it.
Faint cracks started to form where Jugo hit it, but too faint for normal eyes to tell.
----
As the events far from where Jeanne held the two girls hostages, she was unaware of what was happening to the other obelisk. Hatter did not warn them that each one was connected and would experience the same thing as the others. So when Jugo cracked the one he was to protect, all the others received the same crack.
Eyes darted to the slight noise of cracking as Samyeru witnessed the obelisk for the first time. He watched as the cracks formed barley visible but defiantly there.
He knows these woods better then his own hand and knew something like that was not here before. Judging by its construction it was made for a purpose. Then it hit him. She released and no Shinigami have come to investigate. In fact, he could even hear any movements near by that would indicate that they were being watched. So he added two and two together to figure that this thing was hiding them.
That is when the purple cero fired from below Jeanne, causing her to release Yue to avoid the blast. She staggered back, holding her face from where the blast hit. "You little..." She cursed under her breath as she focused on what was happening.
Yue had been dropped, but she used this time to activate her Kuzoku Juuka. The shadows of her five inugami swirled around her before they jumped into the air and entered her opened mouth. Eyes slitted as they changed to a dark purple. Nails on each hand grew sharp like claws. Her hair stood on end as a dark purple aura appeared over her. It took the shape of a wolf she charged at Jeanne.
That was the plan at least before Samyeru blocked her from doing so. "You have to leave, you can't win this." He said as Yue tried to struggle from the strong grip. If she couldn't even break this man's grip, what hope does she have against that girl.
However, before she could protest, Jeanne appeared from behind Samyeru with her Halberd poised to attack. Her smile was gone as anger filled her. She would bring Samyeru back with her, whether he liked it or not. Any injuries he will receive can be healed, as long as she had her dog, she'd be happy.
When he turned around, Samyeru eyes turned into shock as Jeanne stabbed her halberd at him. Blood splattered the ground from the attack and drips traveled down to the very tip of the exposed blade. Blood hit olive skin as eyes looked on in horror at what just happened.
"Or what?" Sobek said, infuriatingly. Adan still mantained his sardonic visage, despite the anger welling up inside of him. "You know the fate of those who betray. I'll make you a deal. Come back willingly and accept your punishment. I'll even put in a good word. We'll take Jugo with us, get him to Matanza, and I'll even ignore his transgression. He'll be good as new and you get to keep your new friend."
Adan stared, for a moment, still smiling. Despite his smile, Sobek should know Adan wasn't happy. No one would be happy. But it was so much easier to hide behind a mask of laughter. It wasn't funny, but Adan could have sworn there was humor in Sobke's voice when he asked, "Tick tock, boy...what do you say?"
"You're right," Adan laughed, shrugging. "You're very, very right." He continued to laugh, even as he felt Jugo's cero whiz past, striking the Obelisk. Adan could feel it. Hear it. The flash burned through his eyelids, and made him almost dizzy. His eyes watered, but he laughed them away. "I know the fate of those who betray."
He shot forward, a bala on his stump, his sword arm outstretched. He meant to warn Sobek away, though the way he approached he could just as easily wound Sobek, knock him back if he tried to block. "Sorry. Should have backed off, na?"

Adan just smiled at Sobek, but the dark haired arrancar was quickly tiring of this. His face was stoic just awaiting an answer. What he was offering seemed perfectly reasonable, and with luck Jugo could be patched up and everything forgotten.
"You're right, You're very, very right."[/i] Adan said with a laugh and Sobek just arched an eyebrow.
Suddenly Jugo, with as much strength as he could muster, fired off a small cero that barely missed Sobek. Sobek had thought he wouldn't have to worry about Jugo anymore. His head spun towards Jugo's fallen figure as the obelisk cracked.
"Damnit! Why you!..." Sobek started to lift a foot to kick Jugo but Adan was rushing toward him.
"I know the fate of those who betray."[/i] He nearly flew towards Sobek with his sword arm outstretched.
"Tch!" Sobek's yellow-golden eye widened and he was already off balance with one foot lifted to kick Jugo. He raised his khopesh to block the attack but couldn't block its full force and was knocked away and down the alley. Sobek hit the far wall away from Adan and Jugo with his arm dripping blood from Adan's sword.
"Sorry. Should have backed off , na?"[/i]
He glanced down at the wound on his arm and his eye twiched in irritation.
"Screw this, I don't care what 'that child' wants... I guess bringing you back alive is not an option."

The world around Samyeru turned grey as the crimson drips of blood fell to the earth in slow motion. As he looked on in horror, bead of blood hit his hand as it trembled from the sight before him. "Lil..." His mouth tried to say something at what was happening. Nothing in his years of experience has prepared him for what had just happened. "LILITH!! He howled in the air as Lilith's body fell in his arms as Jeanne pulled her weapon for the girl's back.
Jeanne looked over as a look of anger and disappointment escaped her face. She pulled her halberd from the body before her and whipped the blood off of the blade.
Yue stood motionless at the scene, her knees giving out. She fell to her knees as she witnessed death unfold before her. Her mind could not comprehend what had just occurred, this was not something any normal person could deal with.
Lilith, mischievous and full of life, she had mustered enough strength to Sondio in front of the attack. In this moment of protectiveness, Lilith had managed to save her brother from a death blow. There wasn't any thinking to be done and her world was starting to get dark. She couldn't even hear Samyeru howling over the event at hand.
Tears were running down his face as Samyeru tried to stop the bleeding. He cursed the fact he had little knowledge at the art of healing and could only think of one thing to do. Forgetting that Jeanne was there, he started to lift Lilith up in his arms. "Don't worry, I'll take you to Hat-sama. He'll know what to do." He babbled to Lilith as he started to walk off toward Karakura, but Jeanne was not going to have that.
She quickly hit Samyeru in his back, causing him to throw Lilith away as he fell himself. "No one said you can leave." But he wasn't paying attention, he just got back up, and walked toward Lilith. Irritated at this, Jeanne shot a few more red orbs that caused him to buckle from the pain. However, he tried to crawl toward Lilith, inching his way to her. As he reached out, Jeanne was already in front of him and stabbed the butt of her halberd on his outstretched hand.
"How pathetic. To think that this creature before me was once the object of my desire." She looked down at him as he kept starring at Lilith. He wasn't even paying attention to her and that caused her to get really mad.
"If that girl is so important to you," She lifted his head up and brought him to his knees. Making sure he was balanced, she brought her halberd up over her head. "Then let her be the last thing you ever see." And she brought her halberd down in a slashing motion. She slashed Samyeru right across the his eyes, cutting deep into them. He grasped them as he screamed in pain and Jeanne stood above in triumph. Smug with what she had done, she paid little attention to Yue.
Yue had watched this and wondered why no one was here to stop this. Weren't shinigami suppose to be patrolling? Didn't they feel the overwhelming reiastu that this girl was giving off? That's when it hit her, something must be preventing them from doing something. Then she remembered the obelisk and she quickly looked over to it. The hairline cracks had gotten worse over the passing seconds and they were now noticeable by Yue. She mustered as much courage as she could, telling herself to get up. She clinched her fist and in a burst of bringer's light, her fist glew with purple energy. With all her might, Yue punched the pillar causing it the break in half.
As an after effect, the others broke as well. The energy that the obelisk were suppressing was now fully being released. Yue rolled out of the way as the pillar fell. Jeanne looked over in anger at what just happened. "Insolent child, how dare you break what doesn't belong to you?!" Now Yue was the object of Jeanne's fury but as the halberd came crashing down, something blocked it.
Samyeru, though blinded by the slash to his eyes, was still able to sonido in the way of the attack to block Jeanne's halberd with his nunchaku. Jeanne was the stronger one now but he was still able to block it enough for Yue to move back and out of the way. "tch So now you decide to fight." Jeanne said as she jumped back a few feet as Samyeru stood before her and Yue. Blood was flowing down his face like crimson tears, which in truth were blending with his actual tears.
"Screw this, I don't care what that child wants," Sobek growled. Adan narrowed his eyes briefly, anger surging, but cooled himself and smiled softly. He had a feeling Sobek was lying. "I guess bringing you back alive is not an option."
"So close!" Adan wailed, rubbing the side of his face with his stump. "Bringin' me back ain't an option either, buddy."
Adan held out his stump, reiatsu surging through it. He would break that obelisk, and then it wouldn't be safe for Sobek to stay. Or something like that. He wasn't entirely sure why Jugo went for the obelisk, but he had a feeling. He shot his cero at it, still standing in front of Jugo.
He wondered if Jugo could still feel pain, and if he'd be able to do anything to help him. "Sorry we didn't get to be friends, Jugo-san."
The boyish arrancar held his stump in Sobek's diraction, still smiling. Waiting for Sobek's reaction, Adan asked, "Why'd the chicken cross the road?"

Sobek was pretty ticked off after being distracted by Jugo and ceroed by Adan. He ranted about Jeanne's orders to which Adan replied.
"So close! Bringin' me back ain't an option either, buddy."
Adan held out his stump and sought to finish the job that Jugo had started. He fired a cero at the obelisk that caused it shatter. (Although damage to the others helped in its destruction) Sobek didn't care about the obelisk really, Jeanne might have needed help hiding her reiatsu but he didn't. If she was caught by the shinigami and killed, he could care less.
Adan spoke to Jugo laying on the ground near him, but Jugo wasn't moving anymore at the moment.
"Sorry we didn't get to be friends, Jugo-san."
"I'd worry about yourself more then Jugo." Sobek replied coldly lifting his Khopesh and preparing to charge Adan.
"Why'd the chicken cross the road?" Adan said with a smile raising his stump in Sobek's direction,...
Sobek scoffed, "I'm sure you can't wait to tell me,..." but he wouldn't wait for Adan to charge another cero. He lunged foward and took a swing at Adan.

As the obelisks cracked, a sudden alert had gone out as the presence of strong arrancar was felt in Karakura town. The Shinigami rushed and in a short time a few Senkaimon had opened high above Karakura town. From one stepped a few people and near the lead was a dark haired woman in a black and red Kimono and a bald looking man with red marks above his eyes. His zanpakuto casually resting on his shoulder as the other hand scratched his chest.
The two third seats glanced around at the terrain below. Ikkaku had a slight grin in anticipation of a good fight. Arrancar were getting pretty ballsy just dropping in like this, It didn't quite occur to him that they had found some way of hiding themselves. It kinda did to Kimiko though, they should've recieved the alert much sooner. Patrols would have sent notice when they sensed the arrancar's arrival, but it never came. Her red eyes narrowed as she looked down from above.

Mikhail was home in his room when something caused him to glance towards the window. While it was true he had hardly any skill in detecting spiritual energy, the feeling that something very bad had happened caused him to rise from his seat and head outside. He stood outside just kinda staring off down the road...

Lilith laid in pain as her vision started to fade. The last thing she saw was Samyeru standing before Jeanne, crimson tears falling from his face as he protected the human girl. Her eyes kept closing and opening as the blood kept pouring out of her, until her eyes closed and a her final words escaped from her mouth. "O..oni..chan..." Her voice was low and no one around could hear it as the battle continued.
Samyeru kept dodging the swings of Jeanne with relative ease and redirecting it with his nunchaku whenever it got too close. Jeanne's frustration was getting to her as this mutt toyed with her. Why was he able to fight now when earlier he couldn't even gather the strength to hit her. She shot two more of her maiden tears at him to cause more pain. However, as the bala like attack came in, he moved out of the way just as the attack came in.
"You bastard! Why fight now that your pet is dying and you're injured beyond repair?" Her anger caused her confusion in his actions. She couldn't grasp it, the act of saving a human who were inferior to them, it was that day all over again. That damn village and that damn woman, everything changed because of her. Plus the fact that Samyeru just stood there, not giving her an answer just made things worse.
When she came in again, Samyeru just blocked the attack and was pushed back from the force. In truth he was acting on instinct, just reacting to the surroundings as the events took place. In his head, the vision of Lilith taking that attack kept repeating in his head. The images kept coming back no matter what he tried.
But something was in the air, a smell of danger that would send things in a different way. In a way, he was happy that they were coming, maybe if he was lucky someone would help Lilith. A smirk creased his face as his ears heard a familiar sound of shunpo near by.
Yue was in awe at what was happening. A battle of good and evil, life and death. She's never experienced anything like this before. The man, although at a disadvantage by his blindness was still holding his own. She felt almost useless compared to these titans, these monsters among mortal men. If Samyeru were to fail, she wouldn't know what to do. She had no idea that help was on the way.
Not caring for frigid people like Sobek, Adan half-smiled through the other's replies. Sobek shot forward and slashed at him, scoffing, "I'm sure you can't wait to tell me."
Adan ducked under the slash, and aimed his now-formed cero at Sobek's knees. He released it, though it was somewhat weaker than his usual cero; this would scorch and hurt, but he wasn't prepared to take off a leg or anything drastic like that. Maybe if he'd been a little more focused...
"Everyone answers a little diff'rently," Adan groaned, sonidoing forward and rubbing his head with his knuckles. "Xuan woulda said, 'So the farmer wouldn't eat her for lunch.' Mine is, 'T'see what the rooster would do.'"
The seemingly young arrancar didn't mind the banter with a man who would be trying to kill him. Adan felt comfortable fighting Sobek, who he could sense was just a bit weaker. It wouldn't be a hard-won victory for Adan, not if he continued to play around and let Sobek act rashly...it worked for Xuan, and Xuan was as strong as Adan.
Adan felt the appearance of a familiar shinigami, and several unfamiliar ones, and smiled softly. He appeared several meters away from Sobek, further than he was before, but this time moving away from Jugo's body, and the rubble. "Don'cha wonder what they'd say?"
---
Sanmaru solemnly stood in the Senkaimon, lamenting the construction of that sentence. It was Sanseiu's idea of a joke, and Sanmaru quite frankly did not care for humor of most varieties. The other shinigami appeared to share in this quiet, this calm before the inevitable storm. He felt a few strong reiatsu nearby; it would be troublesome to deal with those. Hopefully his allies were up to the task.
Another eleventh division shinigami, other than the bald one, emerged just a moment late, opening his mouth to release a trapped hell butterfly. He spat off to the distance, and rubbed his tongue with his fingers.
This will not end well.
"Wha's with tha stony face? Let's go," Masaru said excitedly, smirking a bit. "C'mon, Kimiko-chan. Whas wrong?"
Pushing his glasses up, Sanmaru felt a little further. There were some weaker reiatsu as well, some hollow...and someone--a few someones--who felt familiar. He narrowed his eyes. "One of them is supposed to be dead..."
---
The escaped vizard had wandered for some time, away from her mountain. And she hadn't felt the reiatsu--in fact, she was very perturbed at how alien everything had felt--from the battling forces. But two of them felt strangely familiar, one like an arrancar she knew, and the other, somehow, like Rydia's. On foot, she approached the scene, clumsily navigating the woods she used to know so well.
When she grew closer, she realized that the forces were battling, and that one of them was not who she thought it was. She wanted to turn away, but from here she could vaguely make out the arrancar who was known to her. What was his name? Sa...Samyeru! She drew just a little bit closer, just enough to hear a tiny breath. There was another arrancar lying on the floor. Dead. Kaki brought a hand to her lips, frightened, and stepped back.
She could run. She could run far if she was given enough time.
"You bastard!" a girl's voice screamed. "Why fight now that your pet is dying and you're injured beyond repair?"
She looked--she had to look--and saw that Samyeru's eyes were bloody, slashed with a sword. She stepped back, tripping over an outstretched root. She pulled her sleeves down enough so that her hands could reach out, just enough so she could rub her now-aching ankle.
"Samyeru-san..."
---
A young shinigami adjusted her sword. Had she forgotten her sister's reiatsu, it wouldn't have mattered. Kaki reeked of fear, and her fear always felt faintly of hollow. She started towards her sister, certain she would learn what had happened.

Adan ducked Sobek's slash and fired off another cero, low toward Sobek's knees, but he'd been watching for that cero since Adan raised his stump. He suddenly left the ground and jumped up over Adan's head, perching on the rubble created by Adan's first blast. As the two fought it became apparent that even a little bit of high ground wasn't going to help Sobek much.
"Everyone answers a little differently," Adan groaned as he rubbed his head. "Xuan woulda said, 'So the farmer wouldn't eat her for lunch.' Mine is, 'T'see what the rooster would do.'"
Sobek wasn't completely frigid, after all he'd been the dry witted butler at the masquerade party in Los Noches. He groaned as well at the answers given and stated. "I don't think the chicken should cross the road,... It would be a fowl proceeding."
With the Obelisk destroyed, other reiatsu signatures began to appear. Adan broke off from the duel and appeared several meters away from where Sobek stood, near the rubble and Jugo's body.
"Don'cha wonder what they'd say?"
Sobek's eye gazed upward catching sight of a incoming force of Shinigami. He might be able to hide himself but it wouldn't matter, with Adan, Jugo, and Obelisk here there was lots they would search through and eventually they'd find him. The odds were definately against him and if he was gonna get out of here, now was the best chance. Sobek shrugged and smirked.
"Well played boy, maybe next time."
He used sonido and vanished, immediately activating his mascara espiritu ability that helped to cloak his reiatsu.

One of the emerging shinigami with Kimiko and Ikkaku, was Masaru. Kimiko looked back almost horrified, as he spat out one of the Jigokucho. She frowned and glared at him for a moment. The hell butterflies were guides and messangers, how it got in his mouth was beyond her.
"Didn't you eat before we left? What's wrong with you?"
"Wha's with tha stony face? Let's go," Masaru was definately excited. "C'mon, Kimiko-chan. Whas wrong?"
Kimiko stared down towards the area where Adan was hoping he was alright, but unable to say anything about the rogue arrancar, she had to be all business. "It's nothing, I'll check down there, you guys handle the others."
"Whatever, s'long as I get to fight somebody worth my time." Ikkaku said, already looking for his target.
