With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Samyeru heard his name whispered despite the constant pressure brought down upon him by Jeanne. He hadn't heard that voice in some time, but he can clearly tell that Kaki was near. He couldn't see her and his own blood overwhelmed his sense of smell, but he can feel her. It was dangerous for her to be here, Jeanne would certainly attack her as she did Yue.
Things were getting rather heated and Samyeru refused to release. It would only cause more harm but this dog still had a few tricks up his sleeves. When Jeanne spun her halberd above her head and brought it down on him, she hit air.
Looking around, Jeanne was not amused at this game. Though her face looked calm, her anger inside was building fast, and her reiastu surged. She had no idea that Shinigami had entered Karakura, she had no idea that a vizard was nearby, and most of all, she had no idea that a wolf was coming right at her.
In his wolf form, Samyeru charged Jeanne with incredible force. Though he was against actually harming Jeanne, due to her earlier appearance, he can still distract her long enough for a Shinigami to help out. Jeanne spotted him but was too late as the wolf tackled her hard. Hard enough to send her flying into the nearby woods. When she pushed a few away from her body, Jeanne spotted a silver light.
Samyeru charged his Cero, not thinking of actually hitting Jeanne, but to do two things. One was to send a signal to any nearby Shinigami to find them quicker, and two was to give Yue a chance to escape. Once fired, it lit up the sky as it traveled to Jeanne but landed short of her by a few feet.
Yue was still in shock at this display of speed and strength. This was the power of Arrancar? She felt scared, her hands trembled as she gripped the earth. When Samyeru, still in his wolf form came before her, she somehow felt at ease.
He was just like the spirit she met in the desert, though without wings and grey, but still the same in personality. "You need to get out of here." He said to her and her trembling started to stop. Being around him made her feel stronger, but why?
This was not the time to think about it as she nodded to him and got up to run. She ran toward the tree line, stumbling at first, but manage to get out of the way for a Cero blast that hit Samyeru.
The after blast sent Yue flying a bit, hitting a tree just at the edge of the woods. Her head started to bleed and she reached to see how bad it was. Her injury was not that bad but the dust from the cero was flying everywhere. She couldn't see where Samyeru was or whether he was even still alive.
Things were not looking good. Jeanne had managed to use Samyeru's own cero as a diversion to get herself into position above. She fired her own Cero at the dog and made sure to watch from above. "You will be mine." Jeanne said as the dust cleared below. Samyeru was down, barley able to even move on his own feet.
He tried to get up, hands reaching for any grip he can. When he moved his leg, a searing pain came over him. He reached down to feel and was shocked to feel the tip of a bone. It was broken, his right leg unable to support his weight. Samyeru was down for the count and no one can help Yue now.
Maybe Sobek was a little more agile than Adan had assumed he'd be. The man jumped over Adan and landed on the rubble, and the young arrancar turned. The older-looking arrancar opened his mouth, and Adan smiled in merriment. "I don't think the chicken should cross the road, it would be a fowl proceeding."
"Ha!" Adan laughed, even though it wasn't that funny. Still, he was glad to see, "Maybe I was wrong about you."
As Sobek's gaze drifted upwards, Adan's drifted to Jugo. The man was assuredly dead now. Pity. Adan would have liked to get to know that man, would have liked to be friends. But he knew better than to let Sobek out of his sight; his eyes snapped back to the other arrancar almost instantly.
But it didn't matter. The man had turned, and shrugged, and said, "Well played boy, maybe next time."
And the golden-eyed arrancar fled.
Adan hurried over to Jugo's body, feeling for any sort of movement, for warmth, but found none. Smiling softly, he sat down, ran a hand through his hair, and quietly hummed, Kookabura sits in the ol' gum tree, merry merry king of the bush is he.
Sourly, he laughed, looking upwards at the small gathering of shinigami. He didn't see much point in running. Besides, maybe he could help. Kimiko was there, she might listen to him.
"And what a life that is." ------- Sanmaru didn't feel particularly needed, instead feeling for the mass of reiatsu. There were more important things than fugitives and runaway vizards. There were two very powerful forces clashing, and their duty was to remove them. Nearby was a weaker and calmer source, but it was still powerful.
"Are you certain?" Sanmaru asked Kimiko, finding it curious. Perhaps she knew the arrancar and wanted to exact revenge, or tell it to flee if not. Sanseiu resonated with protest, admonishing that Sanmaru was trying to change. Still, Sanmaru looked to her.
"Aw, lay of 'er. Just don't get hurt, Kimiko-chan," Masaru chortled, slapping a hand on Sanmaru's back. The thin man tensed, face tightening as he shot a steely glare at Masaru. The blue-eyed brute didn't care. He started walking towards the much larger mass of reiatsu, putting the ridge of his hand to his brow. "Hooooo boy. This'll be fun."
Sanmaru glanced at Masaru, and then took off towards the fight, shunpo aiding him. -------- The two arrancar fought, and Kaki watched in amazement at how well Samyeru fared. It was difficult to breathe when their combined reiatsu pressed down on Kaki. She struggled but managed to get back on her feet and cling to a tree, watching tentatively from behind.
Then the woman launched a cero, one that struck Samyeru and created a huge cloud of dust. Kaki hung to the tree tightly, lowering her head. She couldn't look--she couldn't look--and then she did. The human girl was bleeding from the head, and Samyeru was on the ground, reaching blindly around. His leg twisted strangely, and Kaki realized that it was broken.
"Samyeru-san," she whispered again, eyes wide. She gripped her sword, moved as if to come out from her hiding place, and then stopped. What could she do? Samyeru was strong, much stronger than her. She would either be captured, or she would die.
"You hollow are growing much too bold," said a familiar monotone. Holding his sword, released, though he had not called its name, was the same bespectacled shinigami who had helped to track Hotaru. But he stood nearer to Samyeru, and as far as Kaki knew he hadn't seen her.
Though he had sensed her.

"Are you certain?" Sanmaru asked curiously.
Kimiko nodded toward Sanmaru as Masaru chuckled and slapped him.
"Aw, lay of'er. Just don't get hurt, Kimiko-chan."
With a flash of Shunpo she was gone leaving the three guys to deal with the larger threat, Ikkaku grinned with the impending battle.
"Alright you two, lets do this." Then he was gone as well speeding towards the site where multiple ceros had been fired off. His feet touched down on scorched earth, and his eyes glanced up toward the arrancar still standing, or floating rather, the others didn't matter at the moment. Ikkaku looked at the girl kinda skeptically, was she really the one causing all this destruction?
~--------------------~
Meanwhile, Kimiko appeared on the street near Adan and saw him sitting next to the body of a larger arrancar. Adan was smiling softly but it seemed like a really sad scene. She stepped closer and looked over Jugo's body, his wounds were deep and she couldn't sense any sign of life in him. Quietly she knelt near Adan and looked to him, biting her lower lip with worry. Adan didn't seem hurt but not all wounds were visible.
"Adan? Are you alright?"

Jeanne lowered herself down as shinigami came to interrupt her. Theses lowly creatures dared to stand before her and block her prize? Not on her watch. Three men, one with glasses appeared first, and by the look of his sword, had already released. He seemed to be the quiet, calculative type, but he dared to call her a hollow. She was far more elegant and refine then some run of the mill Hollow.
Then her eyes moved toward the one who appeared after, a bald one who was wearing some type of eye makeup. He acted like the one in charge, so she addressed him first. "Excuse me, but that belongs to me." She pointed to Samyeru, who managed to roll over on his back and started to cough hard. Some blood shot out and slid down the side of his mouth.
Without moving his head, Samyeru coughed some more and made a comment. "The girls *cough* please help them. I beg you, please save them." Despite his own injuries, Samyeru was trying to get help for Yue and Lilith. She wasn't dead quite yet, but her heart beat was dropping fast. The thumps of her heart were echoing in Samyeru's ears. Lilith can still be saved, I can still save her. This thought kept coming, denial of the fact that Jeanne would never allow anyone to take her away.
Yue had ripped her pants and tied it around her forehead to prevent the blood from flowing into her eye. She had never seen a Shinigami before, so these men appeared to be of some interest. The near Samyeru was of more concern, he referred to the two as hollows. If he thought she would let him hurt her savior, he had another thing coming.
Then she heard something in the woods behind her. She didn't want to turn to look but curiosity got the better of her. She edged herself around the trunk, not to look to suspicious and peered with her good eye into the woods. She saw movement, but she couldn't make out who or what it was. She thought she saw a a flash of a figure but she couldn't make it out.
Jeanne wasn't happy at Samyeru's display of disgrace. Begging shinigami to save the women, how disgusting. She would have to punish him further for that, but now she had to deal with these beings. "Remove yourselves and I'll take care of these insurgents." She commanded them as the last man finally made his way there. How she detested these sort of things, that's way she had men to do it for her.
"Kimiko-chan?" Adan asked, though he already knew it was her. She asked if he was alright, and he smiled softly. "Hai, hai, I'm a'right...but..."
He laughed, or sobbed, and then sniffed. Wiping his forehead with the back of his hair, he said, "I thought I'd made a friend. Y'know, someone who'll listen ta me even if my jokes are kinda stupid sometimes. Kinda like you, Kimiko-chan. But...but someone killed him. He's dead now, an...an' I didn't get ta know him."
There was silence from the boy as he rolled his shoulders in some attempt to loosen them up, and then he looked to Kimiko. Now was as good a time as any to ask, "Why'd the chicken cross the road?"
------
Kaki shook, furiously. She pressed her head against the tree bark, clenched her fists, and hoped that the shinigami would be able to do something. Sanmaru, if she remembered, was pretty strong. But he wasn't stronger than Samyeru.
Sanmaru was silent as the woman protested. His narrow eyes drifted between her and her weapon, and after a short deliberation he answered, "Your opinions are of little consequence. Duty comes first."
Holding out a hand, Sanmaru was ready to cast a kido. But Ikkaku arrived, and, moments later, so did Masaru. He looked to the human, who had covered her wounds with a piece of cloth. Torn from her leg. She could see them, it seemed, as she was looking towards the tree where the young vizard hid. His eyes locked on the human, he flatly said, "Start running."
Masaru looked confused for a minute, wondering who Sanmaru was talking to. He held his sword, and looked up to the woman in the air. "Hah?"
"Remove yourselves, and I'll take care of these insurgents."
The blue-eyed man blinked. "What?"
"That is one of the arrancar we came to fight," Sanmaru explained monotonously. "And the primary target."
Masaru blinked, trying to process what was said. So they were fighting that girl? He cocked his head. She used big words, but her voice was pretty high--like a kid's. He held out his sword, hesitant. How would he do this? And...where could he hit?

Ikkaku landed with his zanpakuto still slung over his shoulder reguarding the arrancar who addressed him. She seemed to be talking about another arrancar who was lying on the ground and, as far as Ikkaku could tell, might be dying.
"Excuse me, but that belongs to me."
"Eh? Whaddaya talkin' about? From the looks of 'im, won't be nothin to have soon." Ikkaku glanced at the coughing form on the ground who appeared to have the strength to roll over and speak anyway.
"The girls *cough* please help them. I beg you, please save them." Samyeru was desperately asking for help for the girls and Ikkaku looked at little surprised at the Arrancar's unusual request, selflessly asking for help for others. Not something he expected to hear from those who the soul society deemed enemies.
Ikkaku turned his attention back to the female arrancar who had tried to claim Samyeru kinda sizing her up, then he suddenly grinned and spoke to Masaru and Sanmaru. "You heard the man, boys. Why dontcha help those two, and I'll handle this..."
He pulled his zanpakuto from its sheath, and held the sword in one and the sheath in the other she seemed strong so he'd have to go in ready for anything. He turned the blade and slammed its hilt into the sheath.
"...Grow, Hōzukimaru!"

Meanwhile Kimiko had landed near Adan and heard what could have been laughing or sobbing, she wasn't sure. He was near the body of the fallen Jugo, someone Adan must've related to on some level to draw this kind of reaction.
"Kimiko-chan? Hai, hai, I'm a'right...but...I thought I'd made a friend. Y'know, someone who'll listen ta me even if my jokes are kinda stupid sometimes. Kinda like you, Kimiko-chan. But...but someone killed him. He's dead now, an...an' I didn't get ta know him."
Kimiko listened with a soft frown then stooped down next to him to look at the fallen arrancar. Jugo was a brute of a man, but he almost had a peaceful smile that made Kimiko arch an eyebrow curiously. She wanted to say something comforting but was there really any point.
"Why'd the chicken cross the road?" Adan asked, and Kimiko was drawn back from her thoughts to the young arrancar.
Kimiko thought for a moment, she wondered if the question was just a joke or if it was some kind of metaphor for him, or the large arrancar. "Maybe, because things were better on the other side."
Jugo changed his alligences for the sake of befriending Adan, a choice that he considered worth dying for.

Yue couldn't move, fear kept her from doing so. Fear that she couldn't get away if she tried and fear that he savior would die by the hands of these men. Her head hurt, she shouldn't move anyways.
She used her legs to push herself up the tree, it was hard, but she managed to get on her feet. Her stance was wobbly, the toss from the explosion must have done more to her then she thought. Her resolve was what made her start to walk toward the crater, staggering to move on her own two feet as she attempted to make it to Samyeru. "I'm not leaving without him." Yue said as she continued to walk toward the Shinigami by the crater. She had some sense of honor and it would be shameful to leave the man that saved her life in this fight.
Samyeru smiled at Ikkaku's response, he was someone he could respect. He passed out from the pain as he heard Yue talk, he didn't really expect that. It was the last thing he heard this day as he finally went black from all the battle, not knowing what to expect of the life he'll live from now on.
Handle this? Jeanne was growing impatient from these mongrels who dared to stand before her. For one, the bald Shinigami thought he could take her on and the human girl insisted to take her prize from her. "Insolence is not tolerable, scum." She charge Ikkaku with halberd in hand. She was faster in this form, but still was slower then most. However, she wasn't going after the bald shinigami, no, she wanted Yue to pay for her act.
Yue had made it to the crater, ignoring Sanmaru's 'suggestion' to run. Her eyes caught the glimpse of Jeanne coming right at her and Yue had no more strength to fight back.
Adan smiled softly to Kimiko. She answered seriously, which wasn't what he had intended but good all the same. Maybe things were better on the other side, but personally Adan felt middle of the road, like he was ducking under an uncomming truck. He liked those things, trucks, they carred interesting stuff.
"Aren't you worried about your friends?" he asked, looking in the direction of the fight, although it was too far away for him to see. "The exequias is strong." -------------- "You head the man, boys. Why dontcha help those two and I'll handle this."
Masaru frowned, not wanting to let Ikkaku get all the action, but maybe it was necessary. There were two girls and the older arrancar, and one of them looked really young. His eyes narrowed. He approached the purple-haired one and yelled, "Oi! You alive?"
She didn't look particularly alive, and there were others to consider. He bent over and moved a finger to her neck, trying to feel a pulse. Something moved, and that was good enough for him. He lifted her over his shoulder and steadied her with his free hand.
"I'm not leaving without him."
Sanmaru's eyes narrowed. Stupid--why couldn't she just listen? He glanced to Masaru. The girl he was holding felt faintly of hollow. Half-dead hollow, but hollow nonetheless.
"Put that one down. We came to exterminate hollows." He moved to Samyeru at about the same pace, holding his sword at the ready. The man had interfered with finding a rogue, which in his opinion was a serious crime. He held his sword at the ready, prepared to slit the man's throat while he couldn't fight back.
"Samyeru-san," a voice whispered. The hiding vizard clenched her hands tightly around her sword and ran forward, throwing her body at Sanmaru's knees and knocking him down. "Stop it!"
At the same time, the arrancar woman said, "Insolence is not tolerable, scum," and charged at Ikkaku with her halberd at the ready.
Kaki took a moment to gather herself, and when she did she realized that the arrancar woman was almost at level with Yue.

The girl named Yue staggered to her feet and tried to get to Samyeru, "I'm not leaving without him." She said as she moved toward the crater, but Jeanne wasn't about to let Yue take her 'prize'.
"Insolence is not tolerable scum." Jeanne said as she charged forward but it was hard to tell if she was coming after Ikkaku or moving to strike the one that tried to take Samyeru from her.
"Tch, Dammit..."
Ikkaku surged forward with Hōzukimaru in hand in its Naganata form, even as Yue ran towards the crater. He thrust forward just in time to meet Jeanne's Halberd before it could hit Yue. Sparks flew off the blades as Ikkaku fought to keep Jeanne's from striking the girl. Sweatdrops formed on Ikkaku's head as he grunted at Yue.
"C'mon kid, gimmie a break, yer makin this alot harder then it has to be."
Jeanne was slightly stronger, but Ikkaku was pretty confident this would be a fight worth having. Ikkaku decided to try and get a little information out of his oponent.
"So what's with this lil spat 'princess'? Lemme guess, boyfriend troubles?"
~----------~
Adan smiled softly at Kimiko's answer, then looked over towards where the others were still fighting. "Aren't you worried about your friends?"
She returned his soft smile and nodded, "I was, that's why I came to see you. I'm glad you're alright,... But if you're asking if I'm worried for the other shinigami, then no. They know what they're doing. "
"The Exequias is strong." Adan continued, maybe honestly wondering if the other shinigami could handle the Exequias.
Kimiko got a rather thoughtful look not sure if she had heard of them before. She folded her arms. "Exequias? Who are they, and what do they want?"

Yue was dumbfounded at the actions that happen, she fell to her knee at the pressure. The one called Jeanne had tried to prevent Yue from taking Samyeru and Sanmaru was going to kill him just like she had thought. If it weren't for the green haired girl, Samyeru would surly have died.
Taking this opportunity, Yue tried her best to get Samyeru's arm around her neck to carry him off. Ikkaku seemed to be in charge and she gave him a hard look. "Then tell him to leave this man alone." Telling Ikkaku what to do was all she could really do, not that she could fight him. She started to drag Samyeru to his feet as she started to make her way out of the crater.
Jeanne was stopped by the bald man and he dared to address her with such a crude manner. She decided to deal with this one sooner than later, that way she can get her prize and deal with the girl. To answer his question, Jeanne did a very unlady like thing and went in for a headbutt. After that, she jumped back and spun her halberd for better adjustment. "As if a lower creature such as yourself would understand the simplicity of my plans." The hate in her voice for the man was not hidden in her answer.
With that, she shot her halberd forward with a barrage of stabs that a normal man could not follow. After a few stabs, she spun it in above her head for a second then tried to carve him in half. Jeanne was in no mood to deal with him for long, if this battle kept up, reinforcements would certainly show up. She would have to end this soon or be forced to leave without Samyeru.
