With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.
Ryu gets caught up in the gust, and is blown back several feet. Reaching his hand out desperately he manages to grab hold of a vine hanging from the walls surface. As he hangs in for dear life, another rock is pushed by the gust into Ryu's head.
*CLONK!*
"Oh COME ON!" Ryu yells from below. As the wind dies down Ryu quickly climbs to the edge, in an almost comical fashion. Once there he would follow Kaito to their next destination.
"This place is lucky I have a hard head" Ryu mumbles on the way, arms crossed, pouting a bit. "Oh, right. Hado 4: Byakurai" Ryu announces, charging the electricity on his fingers and lighting their path and the cave once more.
"Anything else my head should worry about" He asks Kaito, rubbing the sore spot on his head. "I think this place has something against it, it's hit me with 2 rocks in the same place so far" Ryu chuckles.
Kaito smiles at Ryu's comment and the walks over to the far end of the plateau, "It's gotta be somewhere around here", pushing aside some hanging vines, he reveals a small stone door about four feet by four feet. Reaching over to open the door he stops as a hollow's reiatsu floods the cavern. Spinning towards the lake he rushes over to edge of the plateau to find the source.
Down below a white fish swims through the water every now and then it brushes past the surface the spines on it's back protruding through the surfacer. The light of the byakurai shines across the water revealing the large fishes face, a fanged mask resembling a samurai war mask. Once the light hit's the mask the creature begins to glow rising slightly above the water it's body is enveloped in a red light as it suddenly grows to monstrous proportions. The fish becomes a large worm like creature with rows of razor sharp teeth,, smooth white segmented skin and seven tentacles that surround it's mouth.
The creature rises from the lake finishing it's ascent almost eight feet above Kaito and Ryu it's enormous body driving forward trying to eat the pair.Kaito reacts by diving out of the way rolling to safety. Had the two not been so engrained in the arival of the giant hollow they might have scene the hooded figure walking away from the edge of the lake into a small stone door that close behind him leaving no trace.
As the enormous creature rises from the depths of darkness, Ryu's eyes furrow. What is a hollow doing here? How did it even get here? Ryu thought quickly as the beast lunged at the two shinigami. Dodging to the left Ryu pointed the two fingers that were charged with lightning at the creature. The charges glows brighter, and brighter, smaller bolts of electricity beginning to stream off it and strike surfaces around Ryu.
"What are you doing here Hollow? There are no souls to devour in here, so you must have a reason" Ryu announces. He was going to get answers to this mystery, one way or another. He anticipated the Hollow to attack him before or after the answer, which is why Ryu increased the power of the byakurai 5 times what it was. If the creature did attack, Ryu would blast the powerful attack towards the Hollow's mask, in an attempt to pierce through and kill it.
The creature gave no response simply charging towards Ryu in an attempt to swallow the shinigami whole. The lightning struck the creature in the mouth sending waves of energy through out it's body causing it to... glow and grow. The creature now a full foot taller roars in anger red energy swirling in it's mouth it fires a powerful cero at Kaito destroying the other half of the plateau blocking any chance of going back.
Kaito manages to dodge the cero by jumping out of the way, pushing off the ground he calls out "Rise from the ashes, Drazzel", his sword extending into a Gaun Dao as he charge towards the creatures head. He then slams his blade down into the center of mask fires swirling down as it happens. Pulling off Kaito jumps back down standing on the edge of the plateau he laughs a bit "I guess you just need to hit it right."
The creature screaming in pain rises up the wound in it's mask burning with energy before sealing over the creature gaining another foot in length, the tendrils from it's head fire towards the pair one swirling around Kaito by the waist and raising him high over the creatures open maw. The other six surging towards Ryu trying to engulf the shinigami.
Cursing slightly as the Hollow absorbs his attack, Ryu leaps backwards a few feet. Kaito's attack seemes to be absorbed as well, this is strange. Ryu has never encountered a Hollow that could do that. Suddenly, the Hollow's tentacles reach out for Ryu, in an attempt to grab him. Ryu flash steps to the left, avoiding the attack.
"Hold still kaito" Ryu yells out, then unsheathes his blade. Leaping into the air, Ryu slices into the Hollow's tentacle around Kaito, cutting it in half and freeing his friend. Afterward, Ryu grabs Kaito and jumps a few feet back. "hold still, let me concentrate." Ryu states, holding onto Kaito's shoulder.
"Bakudo 26: Kyakko" Ryu announces. As he does so, both he and Kaito begin to vanish, becoming invisible, and their reiatsu being masked. "I can only hold this technique for a 2 and a half minutes now, so make it count" Ryu says as he jumps away, and readies himself.
Lunging at the Hollow, Ryu strikes with his katana, attempting to slash at the back of the creature's neck. After this slash, he would then leap into the air and collect a healthy amount of reishi under his feet, and floating in the air. He then points his hand forward "Hado 33; Sokatsui!" He announces. A blast of blue energy erupts from his hand and slams into mark left by the slash Ryu had made on the Hollow's neck.
"Only a little longer until the Bakudo wears off... we better make this count" Ryu thinks to himself.
Kaito see's as Ryu slams into the back of the worms neck a second passes before he moves but, to him it seemed like an eternity. The idea crept into his head slowly and as ridiclous as it was , it might work.
"Kaito NO, I absolutely forbid this, I know what your thinking and this is suicide " "I can't let another person die cause I wasn't strong enough to help them. It can't happen again, I... I have to do this."
Kaito springs foward into the worms mouth, pushing off the inside of it's slimy mouth he can see Ryu's attack begining to heal, the glowing red energy slowly sealing the wound. He spins his guan dao above him, as he bursts through the closing wound bringing a column of fiery winds up through with him. The creature scream in pain as the burning fires singed the wound closed, breathing heavily it slowly turned towards the pair before, it burst into red light the wound glowing with energy as it closed and the creature grew.
Upon reaching it's new height, nearly seven feet taller than it was before it's head brushing the cavern ceiling, the worm shot towards the pair with amazing speed stopping short by about three feet. It's skin began to bubble like hot oil and it began to collapse into a pool of smouldering hot slime. From the plateau a voice can be heard,
"Hmmm, can't seem to beat that time constriction.... hmm very intresting, I thank you this has been valuable test knowledge. Now if you two don't mind I'll need you to lay down your weapons so I can study you before feeding you to the test subjects... Don't want to get eronious results."
Turning towards the platform Kaito see's a six foot tall cloaked figure his face hidden under a dark brown hood. His gloved hands wrote furiously scribbling into a note book, and the glint of glasses can be seen under the darkness of his hood.

Looking to the cloaked figure Ryu readies his katana, in defensive position. The invisibility finally wears off, Kaito and Ryu both fading back into sight.
"Study? I think not" Ryu announces as he raises his reiatsu slowly, the yellow-gold energy swirling around him, illuminating the cavern. "I don't think my friend or I are interested in your experiments" Ryu says, glaring at the man. "Was it you who sent this Hollow after us?" He asks.
The cloaked figure chuckles a bit; "That’s not a hollow... No it is an experiment you see hollows eat spiritual energy, so by blending them with some locals from the area I plan to create a type of hollow that can hide within a member of soul society bursting out at any moment, rapidly evolving and unable to die. However they seem to last just a few minutes after hatching. But... I think I have it worked out the hosts weren't strong enough, so ill have to start using real shinigami rather than the civilians of Rukongai, you two should be perfect test subjects"
Kaito squeezes his katana in anger, shunpoing to the platform he stands on edge as he speaks; "Those were people they had lives and families people who cared about them, you sick heartless bastard I'll rip you into shreds" He then charges forward his zanpakuto raised to slash the robed figure standing on the platform, the tip of his weapon was about a foot away from his target when Kaito felt it a burst of cold firing from his leg, and then nothing he couldn't feel a thing. Kaito stood completely aware of his situation but unable to move.
The arrancar laughs a little before he says; "Now, now not so hasty... two on one's a little unfair so I guess I'll just remove you from the picture... You know you really should keep a careful watch over bug bites, you never know which ones are poisonous, ha ha ha. Goodbye shinigami”
The arrancar smiled drawing back his hood to reveal his face, framed by a mask like helmet resembling a flys head the only human looking part was the mouth. He took a step towards Kaito before slamming his palm into the paralyzed man’s chest sending him plummeting off the plateau and into the icy darkness below. As soon as he hit Kaito he sonidoed in front of Ryu drawing a large white blade with a serrated edge he charge forward with six furious criss-crossing attacks.

Ryu watches in horror as the Arrancar tosses the lifeless body of Kaito to the side. "No... Kaito" Ryu thinks, his eyes furrowing. Suddenly, the arrancar appears in front of Ryu, slashing with his blade. Ryu manages to parry a few of them, raising his zanpakuto to block what would be vital hits. One wayward slash manages to strike Ryu's shoulder. Wincing at the strike Ryu flash steps away, stopping 10 feet away.
"Command Lightning from the heavens; Kaminari!" Ryu announces, his zanpakuto changing from the shape of a katana to a large black scythe. Electricity surges up and down Ryu and the Scythe, causing him to glow dimly. Ryu then points his hand forward toward the Arrancar. "Ten Kaminari!" He announces. From his hand erupts a large bolt of yellow lightning. The blast crackles loudly as it charges toward the Arrancar, leaving seconds to dodge.
The lightning bolt streams past the arrancar while he giggles a high pitched laugh that sounds something like a buzz. With incredible speed he sonido's to the far side of the room, The arrancar then laughs a little before speaking his voice has a buzzing quality and his eyes seem to dart around as he speaks.
"Zarrith Kenzor, former researcher for Las Noches before that filthy slime came and took my spot. However I really aught to thank him with out that push I never would have thought to bind hollows to the energy of soul society, and soon I'll have an unstoppable mindless army to conquer both worlds."
Immediately after Zarrith finishes speaking he disappears sonidoing behind Ryu and attacking, jabbing with his blade six times with incredible speed before going to slice down on Ryu's shoulder. Smiling as he flashes back and vomits a bala from his mouth. He then begins to sonido randomly around the room waiting for a moment when Ryu is off guard to slice with his zanpakuto.
Down below Kaito watches helplessly as he drifts towards the bottom of the lake, he couldn't scream, he couldn't move. Yet at the same time there was a terrible serenity to it, here in the dark depths the weight of the world seems almost meaning less, after all life is just a passing moment. As that last thought passes through Kaito's head he drifts off into darkness, only to abruptly wake beneath a brilliant sea of stars. Looking around he is in a moonlight in the center of the field is a large stone tower with a gate sealed by two criss-crossing wings, a red diamond sits in between them binding them together. The tower raises almost a hundred feet into the aky and at the very top is a pointed peak resembling an English tower top frames a large window.
