Sasuke smiles a large toothy grin, completely ignoring Maria's last question, He stared at her for just a second his mind drifting, 'Does she not look like a high school student, after awhile you start to forget ages, forget humanity. I mean after all five hundred years is a long time to live, a lot of people to watch die'.
"In some cultures it's disrespectful to correct your elders, but ill let it go this time, after all it was very good advice... You seem upset about the way they look at us, don't worry in time you'll realize that they are just a moment a brief blip among thousands that disappear everyday"
Sasuke then tosses the stick of his lollipop off the roof and reaches into his pocket pulling out a chocolate bar, peeling off the top of the wrapper he holds it out towards Maria a large smile on his face.

"No thank you. It looks tempting but ill pass... Maria stood back and looked at the boy who now seemed older. She looked at her own hands, shaking ever so slightly. She regained herself and looked at him.

"It could also be said that we are he ones in Gods favor, Adam and Eve were immortal before they fell from grace. Perhaps we have been granted free passage from the ravages of time because god prefers us, Just a theory though... In honesty I have seen the rise and fall of centuries and throughout it all only one thing has become absolutely certain, Life is meaningless to the immortal. Everything you know and love will die, you will not. Life is temporary fleeting and worthless. Where do I stand in this great fight your talking about, I stand right here with a chocolate bar because, it doesn't effect me. The world could come to an end and I would keep on going, so whats the point?"
With that Sasuke finished his chocolate bar reaching into another pocket to pull out a jaw breaker he takes a large bite out of it, the rock like candy making a cracking wrenching noise as he bit. Chewing his bite and then swallowing it down he pops the rest of the can into his mouth. (note its not a giant jaw breaker but it's still a big candy to eat in two bites, or in bites at all) |

Maria sat down again and laid on her back. "My grandmother was killed by a demon. I watched her die and it gave me this." Maria lowered her collar to show her scar. "And for these two reasons I try to find them, to kill them all, to make them pay for their crimes. I don't want anyone to go through what i did."
Maria watched the kids at the park across the street; playing and laughing. She missed these things. "Yet at the same time you're right, it almost does become pointless. When everyone dies it becomes almost like background noise. After a while it becomes pointless to do anything."

Sasuke smiles he liked Maria, the first living creature he had met in many years who he didn't feel like eating. Sasuke taps his pockets realizing he is out of candy he walks to the edge of the building over looking the now empty back courtyard of the school. He turns to Maria with a smile;
"So you coming?
Sasuke then steps off the edge of the building dropping off the three-story building like he was stepping off the sidewalk. He hits the ground hard cracking the cement slightly but moving like nothing had happened, he makes his way towards the back exit of the school... The library |

"Well I guess." Maria jumped of the building, landing silently behind "so we're going to the library huh?" She opened the back door leading inside. It was dark, so maria turned on the light. Lots of books lined the shelf. Every category was present. fantasy, sci-fi, biographies, cook books, and every other kind. There was a large book lying open on a nearby desk. Maria walked over a flipped the cover. "Sun Tzu's, Art of War" "This is a good book. Have you read it?" Maria put the book down and walked elsewhere. "Why did you bring me here?"

As Sasuke speaks he begins knocking on the floor on the right side of the room by the wall moving methodically across the room each time knocking three times in a triangle patten until he reaches about the mid left of the room. He then placed both his hands on the floor, vines spread from his palms covering a square on the wall before digging into the floor.
"Before this was a school it was a temple, of course back then this was a small town not too many citizens. When an invading shogun attacked the area many of the temples scholars became fearful that the secrets of the temple would be corrupted so they hid them away in the catacombs, then sealed it. In the Meji era the temple was burned down for housing the enemies of the emperor. This was mostly rumor, actually the monks here were quite nice and offered aid to either side of the rebellion. Burning it down was mostly a political maneuver. About fifty years ago they built the school on top of this using pieces from the 'sturdy' original foundation... A budget decision."
When Sasuke finished speaking the square of block of stone slid and fell through the floor making a thudding sound as it hit the floor about six feet below a revealing a pitch black room.
"So you asked why I am here, I give you the catacombs" |

Maria smiled "Catacombs huh? This is more my thing."Maria walked over to the hole and gazed down. "So do you have a light, or do you plan on entering blind?"
Maria jumped down the hole landing with a muffled thud. It was dank and dirty, cobwebs, dirt piles, and broken rocks, lined the walls and floor. Maria walked farther into the dark hoping she could see enough to go in a ways. for what she could see there was nothing yet. But maria knew that there were more levels and things to it. "Okay so far i know you are older than you look, you can manipulate plants;the limits of this i do not know, you also know of a complex underground that no one even guesses was anywhere. Anything else?" Maria walked farther in searching for anything useful. nope nothing. Maria waited for sasuke to follow.

Sasuke jumps in following Maria, he then places his hand on the stone he had removed from the floor surrounding it with vines and raising it back up into the hole, "Bloom", the stone shutters a bit then locks in place. Turning towards Maria vines rise out of his back tangling together into a ball at the end, electricity seems to spark all through the vines lighting the room with a hanging tangle of glowing electric vines protruding from Sasukes back and hovering above his head. The room is a stone hallway which ends in a broken down wooden door, the once beautiful oak door lies ravaged by time barley hanging onto it's hinges.
"Yes im much older than I look, and in a way yes I manipulate plants though more appropriately I manipulate neruelectrical signals... but this isn't a science lesson, it's history. Through that door lies the crypt a large stone room with a hundred and one coffins in it, except only ninety-nine bodies one coffin is a stairway that leads the vault... it's a little bobby trapped. To be fair you can turn around now but I was here the day they sealed that scroll away... I was here trying to steal it and now I've come back and if we get it, it's mine. You wouldn't have a use for it yet anyway."
Sasuke then walks over to the wooden door slamming his hand on it it falls into the room his light revealing a long stair well that descends into a large room the walls are covered in small alcoves with stone coffins. In the center is a smaller one the lid had fallen off and broken in half, but on the inside marks can be seen all over the inside... five fingered scratches. Walking over Sasuke ducks under a rope covered in faded wards and talismens which surrounds the coffin placing his hand on it he shutters a bit before looking around the room,
"well one of these have got to be it." |

Maria walked into the room, coffins lined the walls and a musty old smell lingered in the air. She walked around the room listening to what sasuke said. "Booby traps? Please, Ive hunted cultist and most of them used traps. Also the army made use of mines and all sorts of stuff. I think i can handle a few traps." She looked over at sasuke and grinned "And why wouldn't I have a use for it?"
Maria began knocking lids off their coffins, checking for anything. Maria chucked about 40 when she came to an odd one. This one had strange runes on it, but when she opened it she knew. Maria flipped backwards as the lid exploded in a ball of fire. She continued going until she landed atop the center coffin. Then the arrows started, fifty holes in the ceiling opened up and shot arrows at Maria. Maria Jumped in the air and dodged the first round but a second caught her off guard. She tried to get out of the way but was still hit by three. Maria landed back on the ground with a thud. She groaned picking arrows from her shoulder. "I'm guessing that's the one?"
