He smiled at her and decided to take a risk. It might result in a slap, but it would be worth it. He stood up as if to walk to the bar, but then shunpoed next to her and kissed her on the cheek before shunpoing back to his seat. "Ya know I don't think I've ever heard that described so succinctly." he replied with a nod. "I believe that people who spend all their time doing nothing useful should get not expect favours and do not deserve riches or power." He sat there quietly wondering what her reaction to the kiss would be. If he hadn;t of drunk as much and wasn't so tired he probabaly wouldn't of done that.

Azuki sat in he chair, stunned that he would do that. Taking a closer look, she saw a hint of rose on his cheeks, no doubt from the sake, and an almost delirious expression on his face. She stood for a moment, making for the powder room before shunpoing next to him. She landed a playful punch on his upper arm before taking her seat again. She muttered something about laying off alcohol and getting some sleep before gathering her coherent thoughts. These comments very well could apply to herself, because Azuki never drank much to begin with. Under normal circumstances, she would would've slapped him across the face.
"That is another thing I'm told," Azuki said. "I tend to be blunt and to the point. When people beat around the bush, it really annoys me, if you haven't guess by now. So, why be one of them?"

Makuro focused trying to sober himself up. He ordered a cup of coffee to try and help himself recover. "Well the thing is..." he said quietly with a nervousness to his voice. "I was wondering if you wanted to go out somewhere sometime." If he hadn't been drunk then he would never have the confidence to ask her this, but he was so he did.

Azuki looked at her companion. "Er," she mumbled, momentarily taken aback. Shock coursed through her body, shock and something else. The fact that someone actually wanted to get to know her better on such a personal basis surprised her. "What are you waiting for? Just say yes and get it over with," her sword encouraged her. "Sure, why not?" she said at once, instantly flushing.

Makuro smiled and nodded. There wasn't much else to say. "How about tommorow morning...about the same time as now? Meet outside here?" he suggested. "Then we can go catch a play or go on a picnic or something." There wasn't much else he could think of saying.

Azuki shyly smiled. "Sure. I like picnics. Why don't we go on a walk or something?" she suggested. She liked being outside, and her lips and thoughts were looser when surrounded by nature. Maybe it would help dispel her nemesis, awkward silences.

He nodded in agreement and began mentally preparing a list of items to put in the picnic box. He would have to get time off, but his captain was understanding and would likely allow it. "So tommorow morning then" he said with a nod rising to his feet. "I will see you soon my friend, but now I need to go and get some sleep." he walked past her and kissed her on the cheek. "See you tommorow beautiful." With that he shunpoed over to the bar paid both their bills and left.

Azuki watched as her new friend left the bar. She worried he'd be overly tired and fall asleep standing. She could somehow vividly picture the scene in her head, which only made her giggle. After finishing her milk, she yawned and got up to pay her bill only to find that Makuro already did. Darn it, she drowsily thought on her way back to her dorm room, now I owe him some money.
