With the Captains suffering casualties and heavy injuries on their side, all hope seemed to be lost... until Shinji Hirako appeared, along with the rest of the former Shinigami. Though the aid of the Vizards certainly helped to draw the battle in their favor, it seemed Aizen's power alone proved too much for them.

It had been roughly a month since Akihiko hadn't returned to the Soul Society, and began his underground hiding as a Vizard. He wasn't sure if anyone had come to look for him, but he didn't want to chance it. So, instead, he had taken to hiding in the underground as much as often, being sure to avoid anyone he could sense with spiritual pressure near him, and would hide if they came near him.
So, finally, he decided to chance it and head up to the surface. It was at this current time, that Akihiko was exiting a water station that led to the underground for most of Karakura Town. It wasn't the nicest spot, but it was the safest he felt. After exiting into the cool, Karakura night air he took his first deep gulp of fresh night air. Summer was coming, and the night was alive with bugs of all types.
While it was the slightly more deserted part of town, he could see the headlights of a car passing by every so often as people drove home for the evening--or out for random errands. Adjusting his Zanpaku-to and assuring that his hat was pulled low, the large man rammed his hands into the pockets of his jeans and began walking. His gait was a casual one when he hit the street, despite feeling somewhat anxious. He was constantly trying to keep aware of the spiritual energy around Karakura, but there were so many he wasn't exactly sure where to go to steer clear of them.

A girl in a school uniform, not particularly Karakura High's, Rin was visible to anyone and everyone as she took over her gigai. "Oh dear Kyra-sama, thanks for not showing your face as of late. Did I forget to mention? Oh, I'm soooo happy you assigned me such a fantabulous mission," Rin said sarcastically outloud. She sighed and stared down clearly in agitation and discomfort. Walking alone on the streets of sweet ol' Karakura Town, Rin had to patrol for hollow sightings.
Whatever part of town she was at was completely unknown to her knowledge. Grunting with slumped shoulders, she threw her head back to look at the light post. Bugs flew around hitting the glass that contained the burning fuse every so often. Those bugs must be really dumb.. she thought to herself. Then, as she stared; a mosquito bit her arm. She quickly flattened the insect and flicked its body off. The boredome was seriously getting to her, "Ughh, what am I? Some lower ranked newb that can't handle better jobs?" Just walking around was fairly irritating, at the least, she should've stole some sake from Captain Kyoraku. The drunken old man wouldn't have minded. Especially since Rin's one of his drinking buddies.
She thought this night would last forever with its late hints of oncomming warm weather. Thankfully, she noticed someone sketchy; which meant the night wasn't going to be a total bore. A man walked hiding his face with the hat pulled down. His hands were in his pocket and he seemed to want to go unnoticed. His sketchy-ness made him oh so much more visible. Something seemed odd about this person, something more of the lines of not so human; or more like, not so alive. "Hey you! Who're you supposed to be? It's kind of late for a human to just be walking around so sketchy-like. But then again..." she trailed off known that this guy couldn't be a normal human; especially since she could feel his spiritual pressure, "...you're not."

With all of the rampant spiritual pressures in Karakura, he was losing track of where everyone was. Why, if he was gonna hide, didn't he just do it in the mountains or something!? There wouldn't be any spiritual pressure for miles there--but then that'd be a dead give away for him as well. He grumbled to himself, but stopped when he heard the voice of a woman speaking with him.
He looked up, one hand coming from his pocket to lift his hat ever so slightly so that he could look at her. His emerald eyes seemed rather bright in the dim lit night, and his ebon brows were somewhat raised as he regarded her. He couldn't decide if she was familiar, or not. Regardless, her comment made him shrug, as he released his hat.
"Well I could ask you the same thing, missy. What's a pretty little thing like you doing wandering around at this time of night?"
He waited a moment before speaking to her in regards of him not being a human. If the Zanpaku-to strapped to his pack hadn't gave it away, he supposed his spiritual pressure would. His free hand found it's way back to it's side, residing outside of his pocket--just in case.
"And don't you think it'd be odd if someone seen you? What, I mean talking to yourself in the middle of the night..." This was more or less grumbled before he followed up.
"Anddon't bother yourself with me--I ain't gonna cause no trouble. Just out for some fresh air." True enough, he felt.
Rin crossed her arms as she listened to him talk. Calling her a pretty little thing kind of annoyed her but she tossed the comment to the side. "The thing is, it's late and I doubt anyone would be around to see me talking to you. Not that I care anyways. It wouldn't be any of their business," she wondered who this person was. Taking a good look, he seemed to be covering himself to keep from exposure. Did he not want anyone to see him? His zanpakuto was obvious, even if he did hide his face. Even a low leveled hollow would be able to tell by the weapon, that is of course, unless he stole it. "What I'm doing is none of your business, and incase you can't tell, I'm walking." Good job Rin, such a great answer.
A light breeze blew by moving her long hair. The moonlight shined right above them as the light hit surface whenever a cloud didn't cover it. "I'm the one that's supposed to be asking you what you're doing here. I doubt its just out for fresh air. Not with that outfit of yours. You seem like you're hiding something." Keeping her serious.brown eyes on him, Rin moved closer and closer to get a better look at him. He was obviously taller than her, but then again, most people were. She definately didn't know him, and Kyra-sama listed all the others that were going to be there in her orders. Was this one of those runaway Shinigami that she hears about? No, it couldn't be. Most shinigami run and hide somewhere in Rukongai to plan revenge or cause problems for the its lesser classed residence.
"Those that say they don't care, usually have an insecurity that means they really do care," Akihiko stated plainly. "So I'll just take it as you're too preoccupied with the handsome man in front of you to really have a good understanding of it."
When the woman stated it was none of his business, and then what she was doing, he cocked his head. "You're....a strange one, that's for sure. Well, either way, I'm not here to cause trouble--just out for an evening stroll, as I said."
As the full moon passed free of the clouds, he eyed her cautiously. She didn't seem like she was going to let him go without firing off questions continually. Hell, he was sure she'd probably want to know his blood type when this wall all said and done. He sighed somewhat and placed his exposed hand on his hip, cocking his head to the side somewhat.
He moved to speak, but was cut off as she countered that she was asking him what he was doing in the present time. He frowned as she stated she didn't believe him and then let his hand drop again. "Look, it's like I said: I'm here for a walk. I've been cooped up for awhile now, and I wanted to get some fresh air--honestly! Damn, why're you being so suspicious?!"
He blasted her verbally at her comment about his clothes. "And whaddaya mean my outfit!? It's just a pants and shirt lady, hell!" He calmed and shrugged. "And it's the truth. A walk."
He tensed as she moved closer, his emeralds narrowing somewhat. He didn't want this to end in a fight, and he wasn't sure if she was from the Seireitei to bring him back, either. He did nothing, yet, but he could feel both his Zanpaku-to and Hollow somewhat apprehensive at the ordeal he found himself in.
Bothered by the insecurity comment, this made Rin think about it for that split second. Was she insecure about something? Well, she was... unsure. Though she never shows it and doesn't do anything to stir up a commotion, besides stealing sake, Rin did have a particular problem with herself. She didn't care at the time because it just seemed like a distraction for the moment's being; so she got back to the real topic at hand.
As she inched closer, examaning his actions; Rin could see him tense up. He was obviously suspicious indeed, and tensing up doesn't help his fact. At least others would have stated their name and what they were actually doing. Just taking a walk for fresh air didn't seem like a liable excuse, especially since you can do that outside of the Seireitei if you really wanted too.
"You said you were being cooped up. What was keeping you so contained? And a shinigami wouldn't just be taking a walk to get fresh air in the world of the living. It's not that I'm being suspicious, but that it's my job and you're just sketchy looking." She stopped her walk to that she was right infront of him. Crossing her arms, her hand hid between her body and her bicep. Tucked in, what someone looking at her couldn't see, was that she was holding a Soul candy. One of those could mean only one thing. That she was ready to confront this man and leave her gigai.
"You don't have to get all worked up. We've all had our fair share of sneaking around. But if you don't want me to report you, you should at least tell me your details. It's not like you could be some lost or exiled traitor. Or could you?" Rin was getting to the point of her thoughts. There had been those news, but it's not like she care much. After all, everyone had their secrets; Rin herself, and not to forget, her captain did too.
Akihiko remained still as she cautiously moved forward. There was a stretch of silence before Akihiko let out a small chuckle. "Man, it's like you're trying to get friendly with the neighborhood stray."
He allowed himself to loosen up, even as she came to a rest in front of him, arms folded. When she finished saying that she wasn't suspicious at all, his smirk dropped somewhat.
"But that's exactly what you are. Here I am, minding my own business--even going so far as to walk in a place that not a lot of people live in, and late at night. I can understand that'd be somewhat sketchy if, say I had a posse of people with me. But I don't. It's just a guy going for a walk!"
Akihiko, at this point, let out a long heavy sigh. "My details?" He gave a grin. This, it seems, was going to be fun.
"I'm roughly six foot three or so, but I haven't weighed myself lately. My favorite color is red, and I enjoy my off time--almost as much as I enjoy spending time with beautiful ladies." He paused at this with a small shrug.
"I hate long walks and the beach, and think that they should just be skipped to get to the good stuff. I don't really have a type, but if I did I'd say that I guess it'd be you..." It was at this point that his jovial tone dropped and he became serious.
"But all of that really doesn't mean anything, does it? I assure you, I'm no traitor to the Seireitei, and I am not lost. My name is Akihiko Nakamura. I came here on a mission about a month ago."
"Great details! Sooo impressed, let me get your height again so I can write it down. While I'm at it, can I get your number?" She retorted back as she sarcastically talked with her hands.
Straightening herself out, "Getting back to business," she brought her hand up to her mouth as if she were to cough and clear her throat, "it is quite sketchy to be walking alone in an unpopulated area, living or not, don't argue with me," she quickly said.
"Akihiko Nakamura, I'll be sure to check up on you and your current status," she placed her hands on her hips. "On the other hand, I'm..." she thought for a split second, "I'm your neighborhood spider wo-man." Not cooperating by returning her name, she thought she'd lean towards the sarcastic note. She didn't care I'd he found out who she was, but more like she'd rather agitate him.

When the woman asked his number he shrugged somewhat. "Favorite is three, if it means anything."
Regardless, though, he merely watched her with vague interest as she lectured him about him being sketchy and he shrugged after she said she'd check up on him.
"Go ahead. I'm sure it'll check out--Akihiko Nakamura, went on a mission." Of course...it had been a month--and the mission had loooooong been completed. But he let it shrug off mentally as he watched her clear her lean forward, causing a slow grin to form.
"Really now? Could I get your number?" He paused. "No, seriously. I'll put it under the 'people I wanna throw off a building' tab." With that he put his own hands on his hips. "So, really? Can I get the name of the woman who decided to interrupt my walk and interrogate me for no reason?"
He looked her up and down. "And for the record, I'm perfectly able of defending myself. I'ma pretty big guy--you on the other hand are a squirt. If anyone's sketchy walking around at the middle of the night, it's you!"
He had a thought.
"And what if my mission was to follow someone, eh? It would explain me being in normal clothes, would it not?" Of course it didn't explain why the strap that held his Zanpaku-to across his chest was made from the remains of his shihakusho...but still.
"Or maybe I'm on patrol! Sheesh...thanks for jumping to conclusions!"
"Three? Helpfull number, tells me plenty." With a sarcastic tone to her words, she obviously didn't believe that was his number. Like what kind of phone number would that be? "Nakamura, I will check up on you, just to let you know."
Rin listened to bus sarcastic remarks about throwing her off a building. "I wouldn't mind throwing you off a building for sure. Or maybe drowning you and shoving a blowfish in your mouth. She mumbled that comment as he kept talking. That's when he made a big mistake.
Squirt?! Who was he calling a squirt?! "I'm no squirt! Just because your a fat ass doesn't mean I'm a squirt. You should be jealous you're not as small and agile as me,"[/color] she mocked. "I, am Rin Hinote. Third seat of squad five. And I am no squirt!" Her voice rose at that last sentence.
"And Uh, I don't think so! I'm on patrol here and you can't be following anyone if no one's around. So stop making excuses!" They're low conversation had risen up to a new level of noise and Rin moved in even closer when she got all riled up.
